I started taking this 2 days before my period--I couldn't start the recommended 3 days before since I didn't order it soon enough. Including the 2 days before and 3 days of, I took a total of 26 pills. I also took Boiron Cyclease Cramp (highly recommend) and ibuprofen. I would say Oona & the Cyclease helped me reduce my normal ibuprofen intake by about 1/3. I suffer cramps that are usually a 9 out of a 10 on a pain scale (second only to labor pain, I'm not kidding), and typically have to dose myself with plenty of ibuprofen 800. I was able to reduce my ibuprofen to about 2x's the daily limit (or 2400 mg), so that was good. This was by no means a miracle pill. I was definitely in active pain for about 24 hours. But my period was lighter and shorter, although I don't know if I can attribute that to the Oona. This was my last ditch effort before resorting to birth control. I may try it one more month before making my decision.

This was my first time using this product. I have used both of it's ingredients(cramp bark and ginger)separately and doing so was no where near as effective. I think this is because this is a quality product, which uses ingredients that are standardized to have a given amount of the active agent. I am giving it 5 stars, because it really is very helpful, but for me it is about a 2 month supply (not 3 as stated).

I only get cramps and nausea WITH my period, so that is when I took it (it says start before your period. Maybe it would be even more effective if one did so.)

I still had to take a little tylenol, but MUCH less. Very effective product, highly recommend.

Most months I have at least one day with cramps that are so bad they interrupt my life. I end up taking time off of work or avoiding fun activities because I just can't function. Sometimes the cramps are accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, and even faintness/dizziness. It can be pretty awful. I am not a big fan of using medications, but desperate times call for desperate measures - and I usually end up taking the maximum dose of a pain reliever for a day or two. I happened upon Oona PMS2 while browsing on drugstore.com and decided to give it a whirl. To my amazement it works!!! I tried it for the first time this past cycle, and I followed the directions that advised taking it morning and evening a few days before cramps are expected. Once I felt cramps coming on, I took these as needed (maybe 6-8 pills per day for 3 days). I did take a couple doses of pain reliever in addition - but MUCH less than before discovering Oona! Also - I actually felt normal for a change - NO pain. Something that even the strongest pain relievers could not accomplish. I am pretty impressed!

I had suffered from extremely painful cramps and the worst mood swings imaginable all my life -- but Oona has seriously turned this around for me! After taking the regiment for about 2 months, I no longer had pre-period cramps and had MUCH LESS SEVERE cramps during my menstruation. Granted, periods will never be pain-free - but they can get better with Oona. I take both #1 and #2. The #2 pills work best if taken as directed - start 3 days before your period, and load up on them early in the day. I swear to you they are AMAZING. Then, one time I forgot to order Oona a few months in a row (after taking it for a year) and my periods got worse again. As soon as I started up again, VOILA. This is a quality product and it worked for me.

I have used this for three months now and I have lessoned the amount of Midol that I have to take. I used to take Mydol multiple times a day to the point of the maxing out the doses. Now only once or the twice the first day if at all. It does help to take OOna a few days before you start, but since we're TTC I have not been able to do that. I just find that I have to take a little bit more that 1st day.

After using this for 3 months now, I have decreased the amount of pain releaver that I take from multiple times a day every day (when mensurating) to once or twice during the first day only and not the maximum dose. One of the months I did not need pain releaver at all. I will purchase this again.

I have been suffering from extreme menstrual cramps since I was a teenager. It's gotten worse into my late 20's and early 30's to the point where I would hurt so bad that it would make me throw up and shake. Since taking Oona-PMS2 a few days prior to my period, I have not had even CLOSE to the cramps I used to have. I still have cramps off and on through the day on the first day, but now I'm able to get out of bed, go to work and be productive whereas before, Day 1 was miserable. I didn't start getting cramps or PMS until my 30s, but then they came with a vengeance. Not just double-over pain, but diarrhea and nausea to the point of vomiting and often couldn't eat (almost like morning sickness). Prescription painkillers or massive doses of Aleve helped with the pain but made the nausea worse, so I tried Oona PMS2. I was really skeptical but willing to try anything, and I am so pleased to say that it WORKS! I do still sometimes have a little pain and/or nausea but nothing at all like before. I don't have to schedule meetings and travel to avoid my period anymore! It definitely works better if you start taking it a few days in advance. I didn't at first and found I had to take so many pills to get relief that the 3 month supply lasted only 1.5 to 2 months. Now that I am following the directions, I need to take far fewer and still get great relief.

An amazing product! I have suffered from debilitating cramps from my first period nearly twenty years ago. This formula has been the only effective alternative treatment I've ever used. I'm so happy not to have to take so much Ibuprofen (and so is my liver!) And my life is easier because I know that if circumstances do not allow me to rest and relax on the days when I have cramps, I can still function in the world.

Fabulous stuff, this provides much more relief for my severe, painful cramps than anything short of prescription painkillers, with no unpleasant side-effects. While it does work a little better if you follow the directions and start taking it a few days before you expect the cramps to hit, I often forget to do so, and found the PMS2 was still quite effective, even if I don't think to take it until after the pain starts. (I'm not so crazy about Oona's PMS1 Formula, though; that helped control some of my PMS symptoms, but seemed to replace some of them with severe pre-menstrual headaches; I've gone back to the plain cohosh-free vitex supplement I used before trying Oona PMS1, as that never gave me any problems; but I'm very happily sticking with the PMS2 Formula for cramp relief!)
