The original Chicago Champagne Toast was released in 1997 for the Route 66 line. It was a cool medium mauvey color in a silvery frost - it was sooo pretty! I don't know when it was changed but most recently it looks like a yucky apricot color. I am VERY VERY dissapointed in the color. OPI nail lacquer is really good though. You really need to use a descent base coat and top coat - then it SHOULD last you more than 2 days. I recommend the brand but not this particular color.

Goes with anything and because of its shine, always looks clean and dressy.

Not the shade shown. It's more of a burnt orange color. Pretty, but now what I thought I was getting.

I feel the need to defend Chicago Champagne Toast - I am AMAZED that so many think this polish is too dark. I first admired it on my friend (who is fair with rosy undertones) and although I am fair with yellow undertones, I tried it. It looked totally different on me, but equally good. The name reveals nothing about the color. I find it to be a reliable go-to neutral...neither too pink, nor too brown, nor too frosty cool. But DARK?? If you consider any of these other OPI shades to be dark:Lincoln Park After Dark, Russian Navy, Mrs. O'Leary's Barbecue, then you would not consider this dark at all. Not even close.

This is my first OPI purchase and I found it very disappointing. The color does not match the website at all, but it's not worth returning since shipping would cost as much as the polish did itself. It started chipping after 2 days of wear, much to my surprise, since most reviewers said it lasted better than other polishes! The color is ugly and unflattering on my very pale skin, it's a gawdy shade of pink that is hideous. Very disappointed and I would not recommend this shade of OPI. I am still going to try other shades and hope that they do not chip as quickly as this one did. I will say that it goes on smoothly, no air bubbles and dries quickly which is a must for me!

The color on the website is not accurate. I don't know why "champagne" is in the name of the color since the color is actually purple-ish. I always hear how OPI is such great quality, but my nails chipped after the 2nd day of having the polish on my nails! That is ridiculous especially considering the price. I was very diappointed in the color and the quality. The positives are that it goes on nicely and dries quickly. I would not recommend this polish.
