I generally don't bother with painting my nails, but I really like the effect of the Shatter nail polish. I bought a Sally Hansen Silver shade first, thinking the black might be too dark. That one dried up and got clumpy after a few months, so I thought I would go with black next. With a colored polish underneath, the black on top was a lot more subtle and not as drastic as I thought it might be. Very cute. I feel like my application doesn't have to be perfect since it's purposely going for a "shattered" look. It does start to chip after a day or two, so I've been meaning to buy a top coat nail polish.

The effect of this polish is awesome! It's simple to use, just apply a thin coat over a dry base color, and watch it "shatter" before your eyes! It's kind of fun to see the different patterns you get :) Another great thing about this polish is that it hides any imperfections in your paint job or nails. The only thing that bothers me about this product is how easily it gets clumpy, which hinders getting a nice even coat at times. However, I just make sure to wipe the brush and the top of the bottle, and it seems to diminish the mess.

I used this over a bright pink color and it looked amazing, especially after I put a top coat on. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it dried too fast when you were trying to put it on your entire nail.

I used this as a overcoat under polishes that pop . The shatter effect is beautiful. I applied a thin coat and wow my nails actually shattered. I applied under golds, silvers, glitters and lacquer polishes. I see why others companies are jumping on the shatters and crackle effect, it makes your nails look like art. I feel so trendy and I can't wait to apply my next color with OPI shatter. If you are hesitate of buying the OPI shatter.....don't miss out on the trend and feeling like your nails are art.

OPI crackle looks best over silver nail polish!!!!! The only complaint is it gets a little clumpy since it dries so fast- nothing a little acetone can't fix though!

I love the way it looks and that as it wears off it almost looks like it isn't. If you don't have the steadiest hand it is very forgiving. However my nails have started peeling alot and I think there might be a connection, but I do have very thin nails as is.

What a nice & different product. I love the "shatter" effect. This polish will go over any color & you can do 1 nail or all 10 nails. I' think it is a remarkable idea & should be enjoyed. It adds a different taste to a manicure.

This product gives your manicure a different and unique look because no two nails crack alike. Looks best if bottom color is bright. It is matte, so give it a coat of clear. Going to do it on my toes once the warmer weather returns and sandals and flip-flops come back into my life. Easy to apply. Once your two coats of any bright color is dry, apply one coat of the OPI black shatter and watch it separate. Fun and different!
