I am so pleased to have found this product here, as I can no longer find it locally! I love the scent--for me it's just the right amount of vanilla smell! The best thing for me is that it doesn't irritate my skin like practically every other shampoo I've ever used! Unlike other reviewers I don't find it greasy or heavy at all. I find the opposite to be true--I always use the matching conditioner because the shampoo alone seems to leave my hair kind of dry.
The smell is great and comes from vanilla bean oil. I have short hair and use the shampoo without conditioner due to slightly oily hair. I dry it using the matching Vanilla Blow Dry Cream. It's not necessary to use very much of these products. Overdoing it will leave you with an oily look. About a quarter sized amount of the shampoo works for me, followed by less than a dime sized amount of the blow dry cream. Highly recommended.
I bought this shampoo and the matching conditioner because they smelled good in the bottle and had a try it free coupon on the top. Even for free--it was a bad deal. I have straight hair, fine strands but lots of it, that I perm for body. This shampoo didn't lather much, didn't rinse out well and when I dried my hair, felt like I had too much product in it (greasy and dull). Just to be sure, I tried it again and rinsed like crazy--no difference. Not worth getting even for free. I rarely have a hair product that doesn't work for me but this is the one. The conditioner is bad too.
I recently bought this shampoo and the matching conditioner as I was on a vanilla kick. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. I have lots of thin longish hair that tends to go flat and has other issues, so I usually only use salon brands, but this brand seems to do a pretty good job at cleansing and conditioning. It left lots of shine and decent volume. It may be too heavy for those with oiler hair. The only complaint I have is that the vanilla scent isn't strong enough, and is rather cheap smelling, but since it doesen't linger, it really isn't that much of an issue. For the price, a pretty good buy.
This shampoo is great as well as the conditioner. My daughter has eczema and she is difficult to please when it comes to non-chemical based shampoos. She likes this one so it's a keeper. The price is good for the amount. The price is the same as the retail drugstores, too. Sometimes they have this on sale buy one, get one free.
What you do... Lather up and rinse until your hair is rejuvenated. After shampooing with Organix Shampoo, apply Organix Conditioner generously to hair, working through ends. Wait 3-5 minutes. Rinse hair thoroughly. For best results use in conjunction with other Organix products.
