Comments about Original Dippity-Do Unscented Sport Gel, Ultimate Hold, 11.8 fl oz:

I love this gel! I dont smell any fragrance in this ... they dont claim its fragrance-free, just unscented. I've smelled it several times and dont smell any sort of scent or fragrance at all. The gel itself is clear. It adds a good amount of body to my hair and best of all my scalp is not sensitive to it! I will definitely be repurchasing!!

Yeah, it's not unscented after all

Comments about Original Dippity-Do Unscented Sport Gel, Ultimate Hold, 11.8 fl oz:

Hi Jean the sensitive person,
You are right--it is scented. I don't know if the formula has been changed, or if I just developed the allergy after using it for awhile. Last time I got this, it was great. This time, it gave me a rash. It has "benzophenone 4" in the ingredients list, and also says "new!" and brags that it is "paraben-free". Unfortunately for people who really are allergic to some preservatives and perfumes, the anti-paraben hype that is trendy now means that more and more manufacturers are replacing the less-allergenic paraben preservatives with more-allergenic ones like penoxyethanol and benzylphenone. These two also have a faint rose-like odor and are used as scent-enhancers in perfumes. If you search "benzophenone allergy" you'll find an article on the NIH website about it. I'm disappointed. I'll have to go back to Magick Botanicals gel now, which is fine but costs a lot more. It's now the only truly unscented hair gel that I am aware of.

Comments about Original Dippity-Do Unscented Sport Gel, Ultimate Hold, 11.8 fl oz:

This product is absolutely NOT fragrance free. I usually do not buy products that are marked unscented because that only means no fragrance has been added. It does not mean that at least one (or more) of the ingredients used to make the product doesn't have an innate fragrance. But, I was lured by the price and the other review on this site that claimed the product was truly fragrance free. If you are Chemically Sensitive, DO NOT be fooled. You will be wasting your money because you will not be able to tolerate this product. I didn't want to give the product any stars, but the site forced me to give it at least one.

Comments about Original Dippity-Do Unscented Sport Gel, Ultimate Hold, 11.8 fl oz:

This is a basic hair gel that is truly unscented. It's one of two gels available that don't have fragrance, masking fragrance, or fragrant plant essences. The other one is Magick Botanicals brand gel, which, despite its name, doesn't actually contain botanicals. Both gels work fine and are a great alternative for people who can't tolerate fragrances.
