Comments about OXY Clinical Clearing Treatment Acne Treatment: I apply this over a large portion of my face in the morning, after cleansing and before sunscreen and makeup. Obviously, with any benzoyl peroxide product, keep far, far away from clothes. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about OXY Clinical Clearing Treatment Acne Treatment: this is a great product for moderate adult acne in my opinion. The smell is surprisingly pleasant for an acne treatment. It controls the break-outs I get commonly on my forehead and chin without drying or irritating my sensitive skin. I will probably buy this again in the future. Comments about OXY Clinical Clearing Treatment Acne Treatment: I think there are some "misconceptions" people have about acne products. As someone who has suffered from acne the majority of my life I think I can fairly say I understand more than I should. People indicate that BP doesn't do much for their immediate acne. Well, yes & no. A pimple on the skin has roots that could have started weeks before ever seeing the actual unsightly blemish; an infinitesimal blockage in a pore gradually festering before erupting into a cyst or pimple. This is why it seems once one crop of pimples is clearing up, a whole new batch appears. BP's purpose is to open up the pores & oxidize the bacteria within. This is why you often notice the acne getting worse before it gets better - an inflammation response. Over time & consistent use of BP the skin adjusts to the cellular turnover & cleaner pores thus the complexion will appear clearer. In short BP is primarily a preventative, fighting off future acne, whereas SA is best used on the actual blemish itself. This is why many of the quick fix products use it - to essentially dry out the pimple. I note this because some one indicated on another review that this particular product did nothing for a quick fix on an existing zit. It's BP, it's not designed to immediately eliminate. However, when BP & SA are used in combination they can effectively "improve" the condition of acne. Note: It can take as much as a month before seeing improvement in skin using any regime. And often times certain types of acne need to be handled by a professional. Additionally, may products used to treat acne or even wrinkles will make your skin especially photosensitive & its best advised you wear sunscreen & or avoiding excess sun when using these products. I digress. I suffer from a rather brutal form of cystic acne alongside having extremely fair, sensitive, oily skin. Yeah, horrible combination. I've found between professional advice & trial & error that 2.5% BP found in many of the popular kits is just not enough. I've managed to gradually tolerate up to 5%. Using SA alone, regardless of it's %, wasn't packing enough punch either. Although I have a Rx for a 5% BP gel, I like to get this to stick in my bag for when I work out, going out after work, running low, etc...as a back up. I cleanse my face with a non-medicated gentle wash or towelette, apply a thin layer of this, spot treat with SA, & apply sunscreen. This Oxy 5% BP is smooth, goes on easily, & is nearly as effective as the Rx. Be aware that it will stain fabrics because of the molecular nature of BP. It is unavoidable so watch getting it on anything. The same with most sunscreens. Sunscreen ingredients interact with enzymes in the water we wash our clothing in & often discolor them as a result. As a backup to my Rx, this product is great, priced fairly, easily accessible (given it's 5% & not to many others make a 5%). Comments about OXY Clinical Clearing Treatment Acne Treatment: I don't believe this is a quick fix for those zits that need to go away immediately. I have found a Clearasil product that works in 4 hours. It's more costly than this product - but when timing is important, I guess I'll spend the $$. Best Uses Comments about OXY Clinical Clearing Treatment Acne Treatment: I received a sample containing items from the complete kit. I only used this once and my face is now a disaster!! Now mind you I do have somewhat sensitive skin but this is insane. I had a massive breakout which rarely happens and I can definitely tell my skin has a mild chemical burn. Little white heads have been popping up all over my neck and face and my face is so sore from whatever additional chemicals are used in these products. If you have sensitive skin, BEWARE!!! Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 8/2/2010 OKAY Pros

Comments about OXY Clinical Clearing Treatment Acne Treatment: I use this twice a day. it does dry out the red zits around my mouth and the few on the back of my neck. however, if you really want it to work you have to completely cover the blemish with this. I personally prefer the original oxy treatment 10% because it speeds things up. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful?
