Comments about Pacific Gear Horizon Rolling Laptop Backpack, Black, 1 ea:

I bought this for my 12 year old son for school since he has lots of books and his laptop. When we got it, we really liked how roomy the interior was. It fit all his books and his laptop with some room to spare. Then my son started to use it at school. He complained that the backpack tipped from side to side while rolling which would cause rubbing at the bottom corners. Eventually the rubbing caused tears on the bottom corners of the backpack because there is nothing there to reinforce it. Some rolling backpacks have rubber around the bottoms to prevent this and I will be replacing this backpack with one of those. Although these tears happened, it still held all his materials so I just kept an eye on them. His handle started to stick when he would try to extend it but with some effort, it would eventually extend so that was something else we were keeping an eye on. Then yesterday when I picked my son up from school, he came out very upset trying to carry his heavy backpack on his back and carrying the broken handle in his hand. He said it just snapped when he was rolling it to class. We had a different backpack before this one that he used for over a year and it never gave us any of these problems. The only reason we upgraded was because it wouldn't fit all his materials. I would not recommend this backpack to students. Maybe business people or someone traveling using this as a carry-on. For us, this was an expensive mistake that lasted all of 2 months.
