I'm a medium toned African American. For results with this product, you need patience (try it for a minimum of 6 months) & be consistent (use it daily).

A year ago, I started using this cream DAILY on 25 year old stretchmarks on my shoulders & arms. The stretch marks HAVE faded after a year of DAILY use. No the scars are not GONE but they've faded enough that I feel less self conscious answering the door in a tank top. The really vicious looking stretchmarks on my belly from my pregnancies are still deep & ugly - but I DO see results on the shoulders & upper arms on scars I've had for 20+ years. Keep in mind the darker your skin, the longer it'll probably take for you to get noticeable results. Since I'm using this product on OLD stretchmark scars, I cannot speak to whether they prevent stretchmarks.

I am still giving faith in it because i am a patient person and am hoping that it will eventually work, but i have been using this cream since i was about 3 months and my breasts started getting stretch marks. I am now 9 months. I also put it on my stomach everyday even though there were no stretch marks. I started to get marks on my hips so i started it there everyday, then my legs, so there everyday & so on. My breasts, hips, legs, have been getting worse & worse as if i am not using anything. My stomach hasn't gotten any marks, but the other day i noticed a few small faint marks. I am still using it & will keep using it until it runs out just to see if it may work eventually. But honestly, I think these creams are bull UNLESS you want to use it daily for a year or so, then the results will show. So i will keep trying.

I have no idea if this will work in the war against stretch marks in the long run but it is definitely pleasant to use. It's smooth enough to apply easily but does not leave behind a greasy film. I've been using it twice a day on my growing tummy for two weeks and have had no bad reactions.

One thing I should mention is I do not use this to reduce the appearance of any scars - I bought it because of the vitamins and collagen and elastin in it. It's a thick, somewhat heavy formula but like the other Palmer's products it works well. Once it has absorbed your skin feels very soft. But, this stuff has a horrible smell... I don't know if they were going for "unscented", but they should have just used the same chocolatey scent of the regular cocoa butter lotion. This stuff just smells bad and I will not but it again because of it.

This junk is just an overpriced lotion, and not a very good one at that. Does nothing for stretch marks (I relied on Cococare's yellow stick 100% pure cocoa butter to lighten the stretch marks this did nothing to prevent). Not very moistirizing, though it would work as a cheap lotion. But at the price, I'd go for something that works better. Has so many other ingredents that you don't really know what you're getting.

I used this every day faithfully during my 1st pregnancy. I am 4'11 and 105 lbs so I knew that my abdomen would be stretched to the max when pregnant. After the baby was born my physician commented that I must have good genes when he noticed my abdomen absent of stretch marks. During pregnancy #2 I never bothered to purchase this lotion figuring it was mostly my genetics that spared me from stretch marks the first time and only used regular lotion on my belly. Bad decision, this stuff does work because now have a few small but obvious stretch marks. (During both pregnancys I gained the same amount of weight and both babies were almost exactly the same size.)
