As another reviewer said, this hand sanitizer contains benzalkonium chloride, one of the only agents (along with benzethonium chloride and bleach) reported to kill the norovirus (the most common stomach virus). Cruise ships supposedly use cleansers and soaps containing this ingredient to tame the widespread "cruise ship virus" outbreaks. Alcohol doesn't TOUCH norovirus. The B-chlorides also supposedly protect your hands from NEW germs you come into contact with for a while after application, unlike alcohol which only kills bacteria/germs already on your hands. AND the B-chlorides are natural softeners too, which makes this Kandoo sanitizer almost feel like lotion in my hands - thus what another reviewer called "slimy." Yes, it is a little slick once you start to rub in the foam, but then it starts to look like white lotion that you simply rub in until dry (and make sure you don't stop until it's dry or else you don't get full germ protection!). This stuff won't dry out your hands like alcohol-based gels do, and trust me, I use this stuff repeatedly all day long as I work with patients and testing materials that several patients a day have their hands on, and I can't always get to a sink immediately to wash my hands afterwards. My hands are not dry, cracked, or irritated.

This Kandoo is fragrance-free - no weird, fishy, or chemical after-smells that remain afterwards (unlike another brand of fragrance-free alcohol-free sanitizer I tried). I actually would prefer if this did come in a scented option myself. It fits perfectly in my car cup holder, and it's easy to pump the foam out without having to pick up the bottle. But beware, just ONE, short pump is enough to coat both your hands, and it squirts very freely.

Love this stuff! I'm so glad companies are starting to understand that alcohol doesn't kill everything!

One of my 3 children is allergic to alcohol, but the schools love to slather on hand sanitizer several times throughout the day. I don't blame them, but it's a problem for my daughter. This is the only product I can send to school with her to avoid having her come home with raw, blistered hands caused by Purell and other alcohol-based sanitizers.

And just as an aside in case you've never heard this, many children are treated for alcohol poisoning each year when they lick their hands after using the other products. Many sanitizers smell like candy and well, kids are curious. I've been using this for several years for everyone in the family. I wouldn't have known about the dangers if my own child had not had a severe allergic reaction to the alcohol. I'm grateful for this alternative.

I wanted a good foaming hand sanitizer for the car, and I decided to try this one. Last time I try a product that hasnt been reviewed. This is by far the worst hand sanitizer I've ever used. One use and I think I am going to toss it. Back to the standard Purell stuff.
