I have happily used a brush and blade for many years, but after i was put on blood thinners my doctor said it was time to switch to an electric shaver. The choice was between the Braun and Panasonic and I chose the Panasonic because it can be used wet or dry and uses a soap and water cleaning solution as opposed to the Braun's alcohol based solution.

I am convinced I made the better choice! I anticipated it would take a period of at least a few weeks to get accustomed to the shaver and for my face to not get razor burn, but from day one my shave was smooth and burn free. Admittedly it does not shave as close as my brush and blade, but I still look good and my wife says she cannot see or feel any difference, I thought I would wet shave a lot, but the dry shave is so smooth and close enough that I have never bothered to even try wet shaving. When I first saw the shaver I was concerned whether or not I could shave the area between my nose and the top of my mustache, but to my surprise it is absolutely no problem.

The only minor complaint is from my wife who finds the intermittent buzzing of the automatic cleaner annoying. As for me, I am now a happy camper and looking forward to many years of service from my Panasonic shaver.

This is the best shaver that I have ever owned. It's suggested retail is a little high but you can get it much cheaper if you search hard enough. It takes a little while for the skin to get used to the close shave but after that there is no reason to not look good all of the time. both my son and I are enjoying the close shave and the self cleaning unit. Highly recommend it.

Just a fantastic shaver! Super quick, great quality, and absolutely the most comfortable and closest shave I've ever had (compared to Norelco, Braun, Remington, etc.), whether it's for a clean shave, or to maintain the goatee. The cleaning unit is a breeze, works great, and is much cheaper to maintain than my old Braun unit. The only con (and it's more of a nuisance) is that, once the cleaning and/or recharging cycle is complete, the LCD on the unit flashes - at night, it's very bright. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever. You'll love it!
