I had my husband give this razor a try and he did not like it. He's a lifelong disposable cartridge shaver and I thought this might be an easy, more economical, and "green" alternative for him. He was very interested to check it out but he couldn't even finish one shave because of the pain it caused him. He followed the directions by soaking his beard with hot water, lathered with his favorite shave cream, starting gently, with his skin taught, but he said it only pulled his day-old stubble instead of cutting it. It didn't seem like it was shaving anything, just causing pain. His face was left sore for 3 days with razor burn/scabby bumps on his neck. Yuck!

So I decided to commandeer the unit and see how it did on my legs and it did a pretty fair job. I didn't get any pulling or razor burn, it left my legs nicely smooth but not as smooth as with a regular razor blade. I tried it both dry and wet and with different lathers. The best combo I found was to use my gel facial cleanser in wet mode. The texture of the gel cleanser gave it the right slip. Compared to a regular "lady" electric shaver it's pretty slick. The handle has a nice grip and size that makes it easy to hold (even if soapy). It seems to get the job done faster (wider head, more power) plus it just feels a little better more durable quality.

The only bummer is that I dropped it off the top of the shower curtain rack and it broke off the nice little trimmer. It seemed to be made well enough to withstand that kind of impact but doesn't appear to be the case.

Overall, I gave it 2 stars as an average of my husband's (1) and my score (3).
