I hadn't intended to buy the leave-in conditioner but read the product description too quickly. I've used it before though, and it's a good product. On my hair, which is fine and straight, it's a wee bit heavy, so I use it very sparingly.

It's not heavily scented and it's very gentle on the skin.

Just like all of the other Paul Mitchell conditioners, it makes a great shave cream, especially if you're like me and all other shaving creams (even ones purported to be for "sensitive skin") make your skin itchy and dry. This size bottle will probably last a good 9-12 months, so it's a great buy.

"The Conditioner" has recently been re-formulated, and it's an improvement in terms of the performance and effectiveness.... however, Paul Mitchell is STILL putting blue colored dye, which is completely unnecessary, and continues to put the same horrid perfume smell in it. Even at a low dose, many consumers find this a horribly offensive smell. It is not family friendly because boys and men do not want to smell like they are wearing an old lady's perfume, and mother's don't want to put unnecessary synthetic blue coloring junk on their children. They should have used a family-friendly, light and simple, pleasant and natural smelling fragrance.... like lemon/lime or a fresh fruity smell.... and just take the fake blue coloring out.

I've been using this for 20 years. It's the only conditioner that feels substantial enough to make it through all the knots and tangles in my hair, using just a small amount.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner, 16.9 fl oz:

I like the blue color and it does detangle and rinse easily but it does not condition my hair at all, I have to use a lot of it (when my hair was long), and worst of all the smell is terrible.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner, 16.9 fl oz:

I love this stuff. Its smell isn't overwhelming like other brands. I use it on the lower half of my hair, up to 3-4 inches from my roots so my hair doesn't get greasy. It makes my hair so silky and shiny. I even had someone ask how I got my hair to have "the halo of shine" when lights hit it. It's light and doesn't weigh my fine hair down. I will always use this product.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner, 16.9 fl oz:

I like its smell, and when used sparingly, works as a great detangler and softener.
Not so impressed with this product as a conditioner. Didn't give my hair shine, body, or moisture. If used too often or in too large a quantity at once, it weighed my hair down and gave it a dull look.
For best results, I used it only on hair at least 3 inches from my scalp, and for mid-back-length hair, I'd use no more than two pea-sized dollops.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner, 16.9 fl oz:

I was not impressed with this product at all. It smells like hair grease and does not moisturize the hair at all. I have used it several times and each time I was disappointed with The Conditioner's performance. I gave The Conditioner 3 stars instead of 1 because I usually air dry my hair instead of blow drying it dry. Maybe I would have better success with this product if used in conjunction with heat.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner, 16.9 fl oz:

As far as leave-in conditioners go, this one is the best! I have moderately thick, but very dry, damaged, color-treated hair and this product actually worked at detangling it. It doesn't make hair look wonderful, but it is great if you don't have time to condition it properly.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner, 16.9 fl oz:

Good conditioner for dry hair. I would probably not use this in the summer months; it might be too heavy, but for winter, it is a very good conditioner that can be used daily if necessary. It leaves hair soft but not limp.
