My hair is very fine but abundant. It is resistant to curling (my stylist told me that fine hair tends to be stubbornly flat). After shampooing and combing out my hair, I spray the root lifter at the base of the hair, spread around to coat, and then blow dry until barely damp, then set with a curler/dryer. I do need to keep the spray at a minimum or it gets too heavy for my fine hair and can become sticky, especially in damp weather. I've used this product for a number of years and haven't found anything else that works as well. I need "fluff" to the style of my hair and this styler gives me the "lift" I need.

This spray is terrible. It took me 3 tries before I threw it out. First time big sores on my head and major scalp irritation. I AM NOT A PERSON WITH SENSITIVE SKIN. I can pretty much take sand paper to my skin with no trouble (lol). I dye my hair all the time and switch products all the time. Second time more sores and I broke out on my neck and inside my ear (where the spray mist trickled) it's terrible. Big hard painful pimple-like sores. I am so angry at this product. I was stupid enough to give it a 3rd shot to absolutely make sure this was the culprit. Bingo. You can actually see the red sores in my roots. I have like 5 on my head and 4 pimples around my ear and neckline. As for how it works on hair....ehhhh it just stiffens the hair up a bit. Not good at all.
Suitable for use on towel-dried hair. Protect clothing prior to application. Spray on sparingly at the roots and around the hairline. Comb through. Blow-dry, style or set as desired.
