This is the best product for muscle aches I have ever used.Better then any prescription.Three [...] pharmacists I have talked to said it is the best otc pain medication they have and recommend it to their patients.Back in December I noticed they started selling extra stength with diphenhydramine but w/o the phenyltoloxamine citrate so I stayed away from it. I was dismayed to find out now the regular strength is the same. The [...] pharmacist I talked to said he knew about the change and was dissapointed as the new formulation would not be as effective.Sure enough I tried it and it now works no better then Tylenol or Advil. The best thing I liked about the old formula was that if you took it an hour before bed it would knock you out and give you a great sleep and in the morning the pain would be gone, although you would be groggy for an hour or two.

This product has changed ingredients and is NOT "Original". It no longer contains phenyltoloxamine as stated in this listing. Instead, it now contains Diphenhydramine (the active ingredient in Benadryl), to which some of us are very allergic. I am fortunate that I saw the change in the label before taking any from my newly purchased bottle.
I have used this product since 1973 with great success in relieving menstrual discomfort, and more recently, for mild migraines. In the true "original" formula, this product was very effective. If you have no problem with diphenhydramine, then this may or may not work well for you, but...beware if you have this allergy.
Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
I was so disappointed in trying the new formula with diphenhydramine. It did not cut the pain at all. I suffer from fibromyalgia and have migraines all the time. The old formula was a god send. The Phenyltoloxamine Citratemade all the difference in how i could function. The diphenhydramine left me feeling groggy and nauseated. Please bring back the old formula. I will definitely not purchase again until they go back to the old formula.
Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
For some reason, Percogesic does what other pain relievers don't. My family has used it for years. We've tried others, but always come back to Percogesic.
Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
I get awful migraines, and Percogesic makes the headaches bearable. It doesn't completely wipe out the pain, but it numbs it enough so I can function. Only prescription narcotic pain relievers completely eliminate the pain and you can't live your life on those. Percogesic is a great product.
Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
Percogesic is an OTC tool I like to keep on hand, but use in moderation. I use it primarily as a (back) muscle relaxer when needed. Have used this product for years and find it effective and non-addicting. Usually when the need arises, I will take one Percogesic and one aspirin to relieve discomfort. I don't advise taking this pill and driving long distances as it does "relax" you. Would never advise taking two pills and driving or mixing with alcohol!!! My use is not on any regular basis as stated above, as I don't like to take any kind of meds unless absolutely necessary.

Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
I have used and recommended this product for years. It is the ONLY thing that has been effective on my migraines. Wth the ingredient change, it no longer works. It is not even the same product any more. Going from a muscle relaxant to an antihistimine? Who came up with that brilliant idea. Do not buy this product any more!!!!!!!!!!!
Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
Peocogesic has been a stand out product for years, the only one I am aware of that had Acetaminophen and Phenyltoloxamine Citrate. The product now has been changed to contain Diphenhydramine (Benedryl) instead of Phenyltoloxamine Citrate and is no longer effective. Additionally, there is the smallest of print on the box with no other change in the box to indicate this change. In fact, it still says, "Original Strength." For people like me who are allergic to Benedryl, this is disaster. Drugstore.com was very helpful in crediting me for the purchase and I will definitely continue to use them for my pharmaceutical needs.
Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
I used this quite often for migraine, sciatica, lower back pain, and tension headaches. It is no longer effective because the phenyltoloxamine citrate was replaced with diphenhydramine instead. This is a very poor and ineffective substitute. Nothing unique about this product anymore; it resembles Tylenol PM. Very bad move on the manufacturer's part. The product won't survive.
Comments about Percogesic Original Strength Pain Reliever Tablets, 90 ea:
I have been taking the old formula of Percogesic for years. I have chronic back & neck pain & do not want to take anything by prescription. My Pharmacist told me about this drug 20 years ago. I have been thankful to have the relief of the old formula. My husband & mom & son also found that it was very effective as well. When my husband looked at the label to buy some at our drug store, he was shocked to see that the formula had been changed. If anyone knows where I can get some that hasn't been changed, I would really like to know.
