This is an old fashioned drawing salve (as in, draws things out of the skin) that has been around in ointments for over a hundred years. I have been so frustrated with some persistant eczema patches on my legs - nothing has helped. With summer coming, I searched for a solution. Cortisone is a problem for me, so I avoid it. I tried this ichtahmmol ointment after searching for a black salve that my family had when I was a child. Within 3 days, my eczema patches are almost gone!!! That is really something! Note: it is a black ointment that smells like engine oil - it is made from shale - so, what I did, is after I got home from work, I smeared it on and put on some baggy pants and let it absorb. That is a small price to pay to be able to wear shorts this summer!
