 | Are there any drug interactions with niacin?

|  Niacin is a vitamin used in high doses to help lower cholesterol in the blood. Niacin may interact with other drugs that lower cholesterol. These drugs include lovastatin (Mevacor), simvastatin (Zocor), pravastatin (Pravachol), fluvastatin (Lescol), atorvastatin (Lipitor), and cerivastatin (Baycol). In rare cases, the combination of niacin with these medicines has caused serious muscle damage.
