Paxil), sertraline (>Zoloft), escitalopram (Lexapro), and fluvoxamine (>Luvox). Celexa works well in reducing symptoms of depression. It is also used to treat anxiety and eating disorders. Celexa generally begins to work within the first two weeks of treatment, but it can take four to six weeks to see the full effect.
The recommended dose for the treatment of depression ranges from 20 to 60mg a day although doses over 40mg a day are not usually recommended. Celexa is taken once a day, with or without food.
