 | Does grape seed extract interact with other therapies?
|
| Grape seed extract is a supplement made from the ground-up seeds and skins of common red grapes. Some people claim that it has antioxidant properties that protects against cancer, slows the aging process, improves circulation, reduces inflammation, and controls blood sugar. It's also thought to strengthen blood vessels, prevent cavities, and improve visual function.Grape seed extract may interact with Coumadin (generic name warfarin), a drug used to prevent blood clots. Grape seed extract may increase Coumadin's effects, leading to an increased chance of bleeding. If you take Coumadin, check with your doctor before trying a grape seed extract product. No other interactions have been reported. Interactions between grape seed extract and other drugs has not been well studied. Sources: Foster, S., V.E. Tyler.
