 | What's the difference between the drugs Zyban and Wellbutrin SR?
|
| There's no difference between these two drugs. Zyban and >Wellbutrin SR are both brand names for the long-acting form of the drug >bupropion. Wellbutrin SR has been on the market for several years to treat depression. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved Zyban as an aid for quitting smoking. Never take Zyban and Wellbutrin SR or generic bupropion together. Doing so raises your risk of overdose and seizures. Be sure to inform all your healthcare providers if you're taking either of these drugs, so that you don't end up with prescriptions for both. Sources: Micromedex® Healthcare Series.
