 | Does echinacea interact with other therapies?
|
| The herb echinacea is a member of the daisy family. It's commonly used for boosting immunity and treating colds, sore throats, and respiratory infections. Echinacea can interfere with the actions of antifungal creams such as econazole (brand name Spectazole) that are used to treat yeast infections. Talk with your doctor before combining echinacea with any medicines that suppress your immune system. This type of medicine includes azathioprine (Imuran), prednisone (Orasone), and cyclosporine (Neoral). Sources: Peirce, A.
