 | What is Mobic?
|
| Mobic (generic name meloxicam) is a recently-approved nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) available by prescription. It is part of a growing arsenal of medications used to help control the pain associated with osteoarthritis. Mobic appears less likely than other NSAIDs to cause stomach bleeding, heartburn, or other gastrointestinal side effects. But it is equally effective to other NSAIDs like Voltaren (dicolfenac) and Naproxen (naproxen). Mobic is taken once daily, with or without food. Sources: Micromedex Healthcare Series.
