 | Are there any drug interactions with Mobic?
|
| Mobic (generic name meloxicam) is a new nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) available by prescription. It is used to treat the pain of osteoarthritis. Mobic may interact with several other medicines to make them less effective or increase their side effects. Examples of drugs that may interact with Mobic include other NSAIDs aspirin, naproxen (brand names Aleve, Naprosyn) and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin). Other drugs that may interact include warfarin (Coumadin), lithium (Lithobid), fluconazole (Diflucan), furosemide (Lasix), enalapril (Vasotec), methotrexate, cholestyramine (Questran), and lisinopril (Zestril). Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether Mobic may interact with these or any other drugs you are taking. Sources: Micromedex® Healthcare Series. Thomson Micromedex, 2007.
