 | What are the side effects of Clomiphene (Clomid, Serophene, Milophene)?
|
| Clomiphene (brand names Clomid, Serophene, Milophene) is a drug used to treat infertility. Infertility is described as the inability to conceive a baby within one year of trying. For females whose cause of infertility is due to problems with ovulation, prescription fertility drugs are the first treatment of choice. Clomiphene works by helping to stimulate ovulation or egg production.Side effects of clomiphene include increased likelihood of multiple fetuses (twins), dizziness, flushing, headache, upset stomach or stomach pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, bloating, breast tenderness, tiredness, and blurred vision. These side effects should lessen with time. If they become bothersome or get worse, be sure to notify your doctor. Talk to your doctor immediately if you develop any vision problems. If you are having difficulty becoming pregnant, be sure to talk to your doctor about what the best treatment is for you. Sources: Diseases and Conditions, "Infertility." http://www.mayoclinic.com.
