 | Are there any drug interactions with cabergoline (Dostinex)?
|
| Cabergoline (brand name Dostinex) is a drug that can be used to treat infertility. Infertility is described as the inability to conceive a baby within one year of trying. Cabergoline can help women who are unable to menstruate (have a period) or ovulate. It helps to correct abnormal levels of prolactin in our bodies. Other uses of cabergoline include treatment for tumors of the pituitary gland and Parkinson's disease. Drug interactions may occur with metoclopramide (Reglan), antipsychotic medications, and dopamine (D2) antagonists such as phenothiazines, butyrophenones, and thioxanthenes. Be sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist about any prescription, over-the-counter, or alternative medicines you are taking. If you are having difficulty becoming pregnant, be sure to talk to your doctor about what the best treatment is for you. Sources: Drug Facts and Comparisons.
