Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication is an anti-viral agent used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the eye. Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication is not a cure for CMV eye infection, but can help to slow progression of the condition. Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication may also be used to prevent CMV disease in heart, kidney, and kidney/pancreas transplant patients who are at risk for the disease. Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
WARNING: VALCYTE ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO SPECIAL ORDER MEDICATION IS CHANGED into another medicine, ganciclovir, in the body. It may cause severe blood side effects (eg, low platelets, low white blood cell counts, anemia). Contact your doctor right away if you develop unusual fatigue, easy bruising or bleeding, or signs of an infection (eg, fever, chills, persistent sore throat). VALCYTE ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO SPECIAL ORDER MEDICATION HAS CAUSED cancer, birth defects, and a lack of sperm production in animals. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor. Tell your doctor if you are dehydrated or have had a transplant other than a kidney, heart, or kidney-pancreas transplant. Tell your doctor if you have recently received or are receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatment, or if you have taken other medicines that may cause bone marrow problems or weaken your immune system. Ask your doctor if you are unsure if any of your medicines may cause bone marrow problems or weaken your immune system. USE OF VALCYTE ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO SPECIAL ORDER MEDICATION IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have very low blood cell or platelet levels, or if you are on dialysis. Follow the directions for using Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication provided by your doctor. CONTINUE TO TAKE VALCYTE ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO SPECIAL ORDER MEDICATION even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF VALCYTE ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO SPECIAL ORDER MEDICATION, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
DO NOT TAKE VALCYTE ADDITIONAL 3-5 DAYS REQUIRED TO SPECIAL ORDER MEDICATION if you have had an allergic reaction to it or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this product or to ganciclovir. Lab tests may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. Be sure you know how many tablets of Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication your doctor wants you to take. Do NOT take more than the recommended dose; you may experience serious side effects or overdose. YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL NOT TO BECOME DEHYDRATED while you are taking Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication. The risk of kidney problems may be increased. Check with your doctor about whether you should drink extra fluids while you are taking Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication. SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication include back pain; constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; headache; nausea; stomach pain; trouble sleeping; or vomiting. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience change in the amount of urine produced; confusion; dark urine; decreased coordination; hallucinations; irregular heartbeat; mental or mood changes (eg, depression); muscle weakness; numbness or tingling of the skin, hands, or feet; seizures; severe or persistent headache or dizziness; swelling of the arms or legs; symptoms of infection (eg, fever, chills, sore throat); tremors, unsteady movements; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual tiredness or weakness; vision changes; or yellowing of the skin or eyes. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. WHEN YOUR MEDICINE SUPPLY BEGINS TO RUN LOW, GET MORE FROM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The virus may develop resistance to Valcyte Additional 3-5 Days Required To Special Order Medication and become more difficult to treat if you stop taking it, even for a short period of time.
