Chemical Name: NICOTINE (NIK-oh-teen)

Common uses
This medicine is a smoking cessation aid used to help you stop smoking and to relieve symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Before using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of chest pain or irregular heartbeat. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IN CHILDREN under 9 years old is not recommended.

Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. THIS MEDICINE COMES WITH A PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLET. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. DO NOT EXCEED 16 cartridges per day. Clean the mouthpiece regularly with soap and water. Store the mouthpiece and cartridges in the plastic case provided. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C), away from heat and light.

Cautions
DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or use this medicine for longer than prescribed. DO NOT SMOKE OR USE TOBACCO PRODUCTS while using this medicine. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE HAS BEEN SHOWN TO CAUSE HARM to the human fetus. IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using this medicine include mouth or throat irritation, coughing, runny nose, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, or hiccups. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience irregular or fast heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions about side effects, contact your healthcare provider. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

If you take too much
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea; vomiting; excessive drooling; stomach pain; sweating; headache; dizziness; confusion; weakness; fainting; difficulty breathing; seizures; fast, weak, or irregular heartbeat; blurred vision; diarrhea; and hearing problems.

Additional information
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO STOP SMOKING after 3 weeks of using this medicine, contact your doctor. IF THIS MEDICINE IS STOPPED suddenly, you may experience dizziness, anxiety, sleep problems, depression, fatigue, or muscle aches. For best results, reduce your dose gradually. DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS PRODUCT AND USED CARTRIDGES out of the reach of children and pets. IF USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
