Tablets
Chemical Name: LEUCOVORIN (loo-koe-VOR-in)

Common uses
This medicine, also known as folinic acid, is a folic acid derivative used to prevent or reduce the undesired effects that may occur with large doses of some cancer medicines. It is also used to improve the effectiveness of certain cancer medicines. This medicine may also be used to treat certain types of anemia and other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Before using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking fluorouracil, phenobarbital, phenytoin, primidone, or trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including pernicious anemia or other anemia due to low vitamin B12 levels, other blood conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine.

Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. DO NOT MISS ANY DOSES. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE or vomit after taking a dose, contact your doctor immediately.

Cautions
DO NOT STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE without checking with your doctor. Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while you are taking this medicine. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects
CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience a rash, hives, or difficulty breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
