Chemical Name: SILDENAFIL (sil-DEN-a-fil)
Viagra 50mg is a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for treating erectile dysfunction (ED). It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Viagra 50mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE VIAGRA 50mg IF you are taking nitrates (eg, isosorbide, nitroglycerin) in any form (eg, tablet, capsule, patch, ointment); nitroprusside; certain recreational drugs called "poppers" (eg, amyl nitrate or nitrite, butyl nitrate or nitrite); other PDE5 inhibitors (eg, tadalafil, vardenafil); or other medicines that contain sildenafil. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking alpha-blockers (eg, doxazosin), medicines for high blood pressure, azole antifungals (eg, itraconazole, ketoconazole), H2 antagonists (eg, cimetidine), HIV protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir, saquinavir), macrolide antibiotics (eg, erythromycin), telithromycin, bosentan, or rifampin. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including a deformed penis (eg, cavernosal fibrosis, Peyronie disease), blood cell problems (eg, leukemia, multiple myeloma, sickle cell anemia), any other condition that may increase the risk of a prolonged erection (eg, priapism), allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you have a history of certain eye problems (eg, macular degeneration, optic neuropathy, retinitis pigmentosa, sudden vision loss in one or both eyes); hearing problems (eg, ringing in the ears, decreased hearing, hearing loss); a history of liver or kidney problems; lung problems (eg, pulmonary veno-occlusive disease); high or low blood pressure; ulcers; bleeding problems; heart problems (eg, angina, aortic stenosis, heart failure, irregular heartbeat); blood vessel problems; or heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening irregular heartbeat, especially within the past 6 months. Tell your doctor if you have a history of a prolonged (more than four hours) or painful erection (priapism) or if you are using any other medical treatments that cause erections (eg, medicines injected or inserted into the penis, implants or vacuum pumps). USE OF VIAGRA 50mg IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have been advised by your doctor to avoid sexual activity because of heart problems. Viagra 50mg is not recommended for use in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using Viagra 50mg.
Follow the directions for taking Viagra 50mg provided by your doctor. AN EXTRA PATIENT LEAFLET is available with Viagra 50mg. Talk to your pharmacist if you have questions about this information. TAKE VIAGRA 50mg by mouth with or without food. Viagra 50mg may not work as quickly if you take it with a high-fat meal. VIAGRA 50mg IS USUALLY TAKEN ABOUT 1 HOUR BEFORE sexual activity; however, it may be taken anywhere from 4 hours to a half hour before sexual activity. Talk with your doctor about the best way to take Viagra 50mg. DO NOT TAKE MORE OF VIAGRA 50mg THAN RECOMMENDED or take it more often than once daily, or as directed by your doctor. STORE VIAGRA 50mg at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), away from heat, moisture, and light. Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not store in the bathroom. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF VIAGRA 50mg and you still intend to engage in sexual activity, take it as soon as you remember. Continue to take it as directed by your doctor.
DO NOT USE VIAGRA 50mg IF you are allergic to any ingredient in Viagra 50mg. VIAGRA 50mg MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS, DROWSINESS, LIGHTHEADEDNESS, FAINTING, OR BLURRED VISION; alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. To prevent them, sit up or stand slowly, especially in the morning. Sit or lie down at the first sign of any of these effects. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Viagra 50mg with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. PATIENTS WITH HEART PROBLEMS who take Viagra 50mg may be at increased risk for heart-related side effects, including heart attack or stroke. Symptoms of a heart attack may include chest, shoulder, neck, or jaw pain; numbness of an arm or leg; severe dizziness, headache, nausea, stomach pain, or vomiting; fainting; or vision changes. Symptoms of a stroke may include confusion, vision or speech changes, one-sided weakness, or fainting. Contact your doctor or seek medical attention right away if you experience these symptoms. VIAGRA 50mg MAY RARELY CAUSE A PROLONGED OR PAINFUL ERECTION. If this is not treated right away, it could lead to permanent sexual problems such as impotence. VIAGRA 50mg MAY UNCOMMONLY CAUSE mild, temporary vision changes (eg, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, blue/green color tint to vision). Rarely, an eye problem called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) has been reported in patients who took Viagra 50mg. This may lead to decreased vision or permanent loss of vision in some cases. If you notice a sudden decrease in vision or loss of vision in one or both eyes, contact your doctor right away. SUDDEN DECREASES IN HEARING AND LOSS OF HEARING have been reported in some patients who have taken Viagra 50mg. Sometimes they also noticed ringing in the ears or dizziness. If you notice a sudden decrease or loss of hearing, contact your doctor right away. VIAGRA 50mg DOES NOT STOP THE SPREAD OF HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) to others through sexual contact. Use barrier methods of birth control if you have HIV infection or an STD. VIAGRA 50mg WILL NOT PREVENT PREGNANCY. If your partner may become pregnant and you wish to avoid pregnancy, be sure to use an effective form of birth control. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINES, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Use Viagra 50mg with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects. FOR WOMEN: Viagra 50mg is not approved for use in women. IF YOU BECOME PREGNANT, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Viagra 50mg while you are pregnant. IT IS NOT KNOWN IF VIAGRA 50mg IS FOUND in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you use Viagra 50mg, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Viagra 50mg include diarrhea; dizziness; flushing; headache; heartburn; stuffy nose; or upset stomach. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience chest pain; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; memory loss; numbness of an arm or leg; one-sided weakness; painful or prolonged erection; ringing in the ears; seizure; severe or persistent dizziness; severe or persistent vision changes; sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes; or sudden decrease in hearing or hearing loss. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Viagra 50mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include chest pain; fainting; prolonged erection; or severe dizziness.
If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT SHARE VIAGRA 50mg with others for whom it was not prescribed, since they may have a problem that is not effectively treated with Viagra 50mg, or they may have a condition that is complicated by Viagra 50mg. DO NOT USE VIAGRA 50mg for other health conditions. KEEP VIAGRA 50mg out of the reach of children and pets. IF USING VIAGRA 50mg FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
