Chemical Name: VITAMINS (VYE-ta-mins) and MINERALS
This medicine is a vitamin combination used to supplement the diet. This medicine may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Some medicine or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking "blood thinners" (such as warfarin), "water pills" (such as hydrochlorothiazide), levodopa, altretamine, aminoglycoside antibiotics (such as gentamicin or tobramycin), cyclosporine, fluorouracil, phenytoin, omeprazole, levomethadyl, pyrimethamine, or calcium channel blockers (such as verapamil or amlodipine). Many medicines may need to be taken several hours apart from this medicine to decrease the risk of interaction, including medicines containing iron, ACE inhibitors (such as lisinopril or captopril), bisphosphonates (such as alendronate or risendronate), sodium polystyrene, cephalosporin antibiotics (such as cephalexin or cefuroxime), corticosteroids (such as prednisone), delavirdine, digoxin, certain antifungal medicines (such as ketoconazole or itraconazole), mycophenolate, penicillamine, quinolone antibiotics (such as levofloxacin or ciprofloxacin), certain diabetes medicines (such as glipizide or glimepiride), tetracycline antibiotics (such as doxycycline or minocycline), or thyroid hormones (such as levothyroxine). Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about whether to take any of your medicines at a different time than this medicine. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including anemia, low levels of vitamin B-12, kidney stones, kidney problems, high levels of calcium in your urine, heart problems, sarcoidosis, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. ROUTINE USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of high blood calcium levels, problems absorbing nutrients into your body (malabsorption syndrome), any conditions caused by too much vitamin D in your body, or severe kidney problems. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking this medicine.
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TAKE THIS MEDICINE with food or milk unless your doctor tells you otherwise. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C), in a tightly closed container, away from heat, moisture, and light. IF YOU MISS TAKING A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, there is not cause for concern. If your doctor recommended that you take it, try to remember your dose every day.
DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. THIS MEDICINE CONTAINS SOYBEAN OIL. IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO SOY PRODUCTS, check with your doctor before taking this medicine. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over the counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines containing vitamins or minerals (such as vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, or phosphorous), or antacids. DO NOT TAKE large doses of vitamins (megadoses or megavitamin therapy) while taking this medicine unless directed to by your doctor. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. SOME OF THE INGREDIENTS IN THIS MEDICINE ARE EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include diarrhea, constipation, or stomach upset. It they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience any numbness, burning, or tingling. An allergic reaction to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children. IF YOU WILL BE USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, be sure to obtain necessary refills before your supply runs out.
