10ml Bottle
Chemical Name: CIPROFLOXACIN (SIP-roe-FLOX-a-sin)

Common uses
This medicine is a quinolone antibiotic used in the eye to treat eye infections. It is also used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Before using
INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. This includes other antibiotics and other eye medicines. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, contact lens use, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.

Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TO USE THIS MEDICINE: first, wash your hands. Tilt your head back and with your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Do not blink and keep your eyes closed for 1 or 2 minutes. Remove excess medicine around your eye with a clean tissue, being careful not to touch your eye. Wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them. TO PREVENT GERMS from entering your medicine, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface including your eye. Keep the container tightly closed. If you are using other kinds of eye drops, wait at least five minutes before applying the other medicines. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), away from heat and light. Some brands of this medicine may be stored in a refrigerator above 36 degrees F (2 degrees C). Some brands may be briefly stored up to 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). Check with your pharmacist if you have questions about how to store this medicine. TO CLEAR UP YOUR INFECTION COMPLETELY, continue using this medicine for the full course of treatment even if you feel better in a few days. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Cautions
DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine or another fluoroquinolone antibiotic (such as Cipro, Floxin). A severe reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to this medicine or if a certain medicine is a fluoroquinolone, contact your doctor or pharmacist. If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. SOMETIMES THIS MEDICINE CAUSES WHITE CRYSTALS to form in your eye. If this occurs, contact your doctor. The crystals do not affect vision or prevent the infection from clearing. BECAUSE VISION MAY BE TEMPORARILY BLURRED OR UNSTABLE AFTER APPLYING, use caution driving or performing activities requiring clear vision. DO NOT USE LEFTOVER MEDICINE FOR TREATING OTHER INFECTIONS without checking with your doctor. IF YOU WEAR CONTACT LENSES, discontinue contact lens use during the course of treatment of your eye infection. Sterilize lenses according to manufacturer's directions and resume contact lens use only as directed by your doctor. USE OF THIS MEDICINE FOR PROLONGED OR REPEATED PERIODS may result in a secondary infection. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include burning or discomfort after using the drop; crusting of eyelids; watery eyes; feeling of a foreign body in the eye; or a bad taste in the mouth. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. ALSO, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience swelling in or around the eye. AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO THIS MEDICINE IS UNLIKELY, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
