I've been using this light as an alarm clock in the mornings and then tossing it in my bag and using it at work for 30 minutes mid-morning. I haven't been diaganosed with having SAD, but sitting in an office all day with little natural light all day is depressing no matter who you are. Using this light has seemed to give me a bit of a boost and I have more energy by the time the afternoon rolls around. If I start to drag after lunch, I just turn it on for a few more minutes and it gives me a bit of pep.

Here is an item that really worked for my S.A.D.. Only use in the morning, as early as is comfortable, or you might not sleep well in the evening. Start slowly. Try 10 min.first day, then 15, and so on. 20 min. in the morning works for me. If you use the daily timer, unit will turn on, if you are there...or not! Kinda freaky if you are in another room...really intense alarm! More energy and more smiles could be had with-in a week or so! Truly think this product is effective!!!

I have been waiting to buy this product simply because I didn't have the extra money for one for the last couple years. This is a great buy and it saved me time and money in the long run. I have noticed that I'm not so exhausted in the mornings (or throughout the day) since I've started using this product (for about 2 weeks so far). But it's still pretty early on--the effects may be more noticeable after a few more weeks of use. It is easy to use--I check my email or eat breakfast while the light is on (just have to make sure it's at the proper angle and distance from my eyes). It doesn't take that long in the morning, but since I still move pretty slowly, it can be difficult to fit that extra 30 minutes in. However, I'm hoping to decrease to 15-20 minutes after another few weeks of use. I do believe this product is worth trying.

Every winter I notice that from about January to February I feel a little grumpy and sluggish, but this winter I've moved pretty far north. We get 7 1/2 hours of daylight a day, it's almost always cloudy, and even when the sun shines, I'm usually inside. I was having a very hard time getting out of bed, wanted to fall asleep at about 4pm every day and was in a pretty bad mood most of the time.
From the first day I started using the Philips goLITE, I noticed the difference. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I have little difficulty getting out of bed, feel more energetic all day, and very rarely feel the desire to nap.
The blue light is pretty bright but not unpleasant. The product seems durably built, but I can't speak to it's reliability since it's so new.
It is small and comes with a travel case so it is very easily portable. It works on multiple voltages. I'm going to try to use it to combat jet lag on my next trip.
If you have any problems with Seasonal Affective Disorder, or just generally sleepiness or moodiness in the winter, I would give this product a try.

During most of the year I am an early morning riser, but when fall hits and morning light doesn't start until 7AM I have difficulty getting up in the morning. After reading reviews on the internet, I wondered if this could help me get motivated in the morning during the dark winter months. I started using the light box about 6 weeks ago on half strength for 15 minutes... I know use it for 30 minutes every morning. I am back on my summer schedule (up by 0530) and don't feel like I'm falling asleep at 5PM. I am a believer in this box!
