It is part of my nighttime skin care regimen after removing my makeup. I began using it in the morning but it was too greasy to apply makeup evenly. My skin was prone to drying out so I would apply this at night and wake up to silky smooth skin. It is slightly greasy so you just have to use a very little bit.

My husband recoils from the smell, this stuff has a negative effect on my sex life. I had to throw out the jar ful.

I'd never buy this again, which is sad cause the night cream is GREAT

Did not have high hopes after first use, barely feels like you're putting anything on. But... I was wowed! It works very, very well in smoothing out complexion and filling in fine to medium wrinkles.

i like this moisturizer. it works great and i dont have anything bad to say against the smell.. however this moisturizer makes me break out. i still use it now and then and mixing it with my olay moisturizer is a great combo. my overall rating will probably be 7 out of 10.

Hope in a jar original formula moisturizer for all skin types-
This is probably the best product from Philosophy. It is by far the best moisturizer I've ever used. It has enzymes that breaks down dead skin and impurities. My skin feels perfectly hydrated, very refreshed and never greasy. It is very important to always moisturize after using any of the Purity face washes, because they can be drying on their own, but with Hope in a Jar the combo is unstoppable. The scent is kind of strange, but not bad or intrusive, just strange. The smell doesn't stick around anyway. The only actual downside of Hope in a Jar (besides being a little pricey) is that is does sting your eyes. They do recommend you use an eye cream for the eye area and not Hope in a Jar.

I have very textured skin on my face and large pores in my t-zone. I decided to try this moisturizer based on the recommendation of a friend. A little goes a LONG way. I use very small portions on my t-zone only at night. Very quickly (a few weeks) I noticed that my skin texture evened out. Visible damage was reduced, and my pores were diminished slightly. Over time, my skin kind of adapted to it and I don't get the same feel that I did at the beginning. If your skin adjusts to products, I would recommend getting the smallest size jar possible.
Some said the smell was bad. I'm usually very sensitive to smells, but this was NOT bad. Just don't expect a perfumed moisturizer, and you'll be fine. It smells like a medicated moisturizer. No big deal.
