After hearing rave reviews for Philosophy's clear makeup, I decided to give it a try. I've used primer for several years as an alternative to wearing pigmented makeup. Since this product is marketed as "clear makeup," it sounded like just what I was looking for. Here's a run-down of my raves (and rants) about this product:
1. This product provides coverage quite similar to many of the high-end primers on the market.
2. This product is quite cost-effective. A little goes a long way.
3. I have combination skin of extremes. My cheeks are super dry and the rest of my face is oily and blemish-prone. Because of this, moisturizing is a nightmare. I've been using this clear makeup four days a week for three weeks and have found that I no longer need to moisturize.
4. On my more leisurely days, this makeup is a great alternative to pigmented makeup.
5. On my more active days, I find that after a couple of hours, my face becomes extremely shiny and greasy. I often have to stop what I'm doing, wash my face and then contemplate whether it's worth my time to reapply.
6. The directions state that you must wait at least two minutes after applying this makeup before applying any other cosmetics. I recommend waiting at least five minutes for the product to dry.
7. Even after giving the product time to dry, I sometimes have a difficult time applying certain types of concealer, particularly liquid concealers. The concealer doesn't seem to "stick" the way it should, so coverage can be quite light.
8. I have keratosis pilaris on my face, which manifests itself like a mild form of rosacea. Whenever I feel particularly stressed, or following a workout, my skin temporarily flares up. I have found that when this product is applied during a fare-up, it makes my flare-up worse. I have tried a few times to rule out any other causes. One of the attempts actually resulted in a light red rash along my jawline. It took about a day for the rash to clear.

To make morning routine shorter, I mix my foundation right into the primer/clear makeup in my palm first, then apply, rather than doing one at a time. Seems like I use less product that way and it speeds routine up. Some use the product by itself for a flawless natural finish.

I have medium/dark skin. Just a slight darker than carmel. So it is very hard for me to find make up and daytime products. I love this because i have very acne prone, sensitive, oily, and pigmentated skin. This product

1.hides and calms the acne (even though im african american, i get red acne...?)
2.Does not irratate my skin
3. Keeps my entire face with the exception of my nose oil free all day.
4. Lessens the appearance of my "pigmentation"/dark marks.

Sometimes when i dont get to properly exfoilate during the week, i get a rough scaley patch on my forehead. This product completely hides it! and even makes my skin looks smooth and flawless.

One last thing is that this product makes me look so good, i feel completely confident with no earrings and my hair pulled back lol ;)

I am well beyond 60 years old. I'm often able to go without any other makeup. I do not like the feel of foundation on my face and The Present is a wonderful option. No color, just a wonderful air brushed effect on fine lines and wrinkles. Enjoy this product.

I was really impressed with how smooth my skin looked after applying this with my foundation on top. However, within about 10 minutes I started getting red bumps and small blotchy areas and had to remove everything. I tried again a few weeks later, same thing. A third attempt generated the same results. If you've got sensitive skin, think twice about using this product.

I am 43, the daughter of a dermatologist, and I've been very careful about sun exposure since I was a child so my skin is in good shape (only very tiny fine lines, plus pores I'd like to minimize). I'm also extremely fair, and tend to have oily skin (T zone especially). I was using Neutrogena Natural Skin Enhancer, which is a combination moisturizer/foundation, along with light pressed powder, but I don't need it anymore now that I have The Present.

The Present provides a matte finish, minimizes pores and fine lines, and lasts most of the day. It goes on smoothly, and I can't even tell I have anything on my face. My blush goes on very nicely over it (after waiting awhile for it to dry, as recommended on the package).

I highly recommend this product. The price is higher than I'd normally pay, but since it replaces my powder and foundation, and since it contains two ounces (and my foundation was only one ounce for $11), I find that I'm paying pretty much the same as before, with my cheaper brand products.

I was so surprised this works as well as it does!!! First off, I have oil skin so makeup usually makes me feel even worse after a few hours. This didn't do it! I know people said it was hard to use concealor once they have this one, but I've used my regular foundation as a concealor and it blends wonderfully!

I don't feel like I'm wearing makeup when I use this and after letting it sit for a few mintue (I usually get dressed while I wait or I straighten my hair) I put my foundation on in place of my concealor and I'm good to go!!! I don't have to use concealor, foundation and powder anymore!

This product did enhance the appearance of my skin. It is a white cream that seems to create a pale palette for make-up, and minimize pores. Interesting though, since it's now summer, my non-comedogenic white spf 50 facial sunscreen seems to do the same thing.

I have been using this under my make-up and I love it. It seems to fill in all the lines and make my face smoother. I love it!!!

I have a decent complexion. This product has the worst smell. It felt sticky on my face and felt heavy. I do love Philosophy's products but, definitely not this one.
