The minute my hair hits any humidity, it frizzes and begins to curl. While I don't think any product will ever shield my hair from this completely, this one gives me a fighting chance when I accompany it with a scarf or hat. One of the really big plusses is the way it leaves the hair after blow drying; if I blow my hair dry carefully, I normally don't need to use a straightening iron. When I do use the iron, the product leaves my hair beautifully soft, shiny and feeling product-free, i.e., no stickiness, no oiliness, no stiffness. Just remember that a very small amount (about the size of a nickel for my long hair) finger-combed through the hair thoroughly is enough! Makes hair super shiny and smooth, but if you have fine hair it may weigh down a little. I was expecting a gel-like texture, but it is really more of a liquid (in a tube). This was the first time I ever had "GREAT HAIR" during the summer when the weather was very humid and even on rainy days. It works with any shampoo & conditioner (I like to rotate), and I only shampoo every other day. It is pricey, but well worth it. Be sure you don't use too much or you will see product build-up after you blow dry. I was skeptical at first (after reading other reviews) but once I tried it, I will never use another product on my curly hair again. Other products tend to make my hair fly-away; this one brings curls back into my hair and makes it so soft. Over the past several years my once beautiful curly hair started losing its curl and becoming frizzy/flyaway (I am 50 yoa) which was so depressing. Cons Best Uses Comments about PHYTO Phytodefrisant, Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm, 3.3 fl oz: I don't know that this really "straightens" my hair, but it definitely helps keep is straight after I blow it out and use a flat iron on it. Without this, my hair recurls at the slightest sign of moisture. It really helps control hair - I actually even use it when I do my hair curly because it helps keep the curls together without any crunch. You really have to watch how much you use, though.
