The pad is stuck to the liner in the package that flattens out when you are finally able to find the opening and tear it open. you used to be able to easily dispose of the used pad in the old packet but not any more since it is unusable once you take the new pad out, and it they also shortened the length of the pad so this is not like the great product they used to sell. I've suggested changes and they've haplpened. Good company. I use the long liners every day. Wouldn't be comfortable or confident without them (a-choo!). We have our problems, but Poise definitely helps us out. Would like to see the bigger packages again and perhaps a bit longer liner. Ordering from Drugstore.com is a wonderful convenience. They were a touch bigger and the glue was stronger. This second batch was made much cheaper although it is supposed to be the same item. Not happy wi these. This one is nice and long and doesn't feel like I have a brick between my legs. Upon first sight, you may think this pad isn't going to be absorbent enough because it is not as thick as a maxi kotex pad; however, it is much better than a maxi pad plus it helps with odors. I used them to keep my trouser/pants fresh to be worn for 2 or more days and limit laundery and packing. They were wonderful. I have had several kidney problems since then and the liners give me confidence that I a dry and clean and pants stay fresh enough to wear at least 2 days. Best Uses Comments about Poise Liners, Discreet Bladder Protection Long and Very Light, 44 ea: Unfortunately, stress incontinence happens (ah-choo, lol, hop-scotch, bouncing-no-no). I've used the thicker longs, and those are too thick, but the length was great. These are not long enough. May be same length (I haven't measured to know), but these do not provide adequate coverage.
