A tall handful of basil had to be trimmed quite a bit to fit; there isn't a lot of "height" for bunches of herbs. The unit is pretty big and clunky, though it does fit in the fridge door fine. In 2 weeks my basil was a soggy, rotten mess. When I took the herb savor out of the door shelf, the water spilled everywhere.
