When Prilosec first went OTC, it meant I was actually paying *more* for the medication than with insurance, so naturally I tended to go for the generic when available. Unfortunately, neither the brand-name nor the generic was in user-friendly packaging - it was impossible to get the pills out of the blister-pack without either gouging my fingers, or resorting to scissors. VS Most Liked Negative Review Had a severe reaction to this product. I took this product and all went well the first two days. This was the first time I'd tried it. The third evening within half an hour of taking it or less I began having a severe reaction to it. There wasn't a place on my body from my toes to the top of my head that did not itch severly and feel in pain it was so bad. Of course it was a time release 24 hour tablet and it took about 30 hours for the effects to finally wear off. Just thought I should warn it's possible some people can't take this. I really wanted to as I was so pleased it seemed to be working the first 2 days. This is only the second time I've ever had this particular reaction to a drug and first for an over the counter one. Comments about Prilosec OTC Acid Reducer, 20.6mg, Tablets, 42 ea: I use this instead of a previous prescription that I had been taking. It is less expensive and I can use it chronically (according to the pharmacist). It works almost as well as my prescription, but from time to time I need to take another OTC medication along with it, although I understand you can take two a day of these from time to time if necessary. I only take one a day and it works very well. Pros

Comments about Prilosec OTC Acid Reducer, 20.6mg, Tablets, 42 ea: both my husband and i would get such horrible pain in the upper center of our chests caused by eating too much red sauce and acidic drinks. i wouldn't say it always works overnight, but close to it! if you're indigestion is bad enough, it will quickly relieve you of some of that pain, but it's gonna help you big time if you just take it daily. never take more than the recommended dose of this product! Comments about Prilosec OTC Acid Reducer, 20.6mg, Tablets, 42 ea: I take prilosec daily. I use to have heartburn every day. Since I started taking prilosec, I never have heartburn. Comments about Prilosec OTC Acid Reducer, 20.6mg, Tablets, 42 ea: The only over-the-counter product I've found that works as advertised. It was recommended by my doctor after my insurance company cancelled my prescription coverage. Nothing else has worked as well. Displaying reviews 81-90 |
