Indications
--Temporarily relieves shortness of breath, tightness of chest, and wheezing due to bronchial asthma. -- eases breathing for asthma patients by reducing spasms of bronchial muscles. -- helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to rid bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus, and to make coughs more productive.
Warnings
Do not use --unless a diagnosis of asthma has been made by a doctor -- if you are now taking a prescription monamine oxidasa inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. Ask a doctor before use if you have -- heart disease -- high blood pressure -- thyroid disease -- diabetes -- trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland. -- ever been hospitalized for asthma -- cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus) -- cough that lasts or is chronic such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking any prescription drug for asthma. When using this product some users may experience nervousness, tremor, sleeplessness, nausea, and loss of appetite. Stop use and ask a doctor if -- symptoms are not relieved within 1 hour or become worse. --nervousness, tremor, sleeplessness, nausea, and loss of appetite persist or become worse. -- cough last more than 7 days, comes back, or occurs with fever, rash, or persistent headache. These could be signs of a serious condition. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

I feel compelled to write a review because the manufacturer, right in step w/ every other product that has worked for me, are discontinuing this product. I think the inhaler is still being sold. I've had asthma for all of my childhood (nearly fatal at one point) and sporadically through my adult years. I love this product because once I feel tightness, normally in the spring/early summer, I can take only HALF a tablet and it opens my bronchii. I have an emergency albuterol inhaler but don't use it except in an emergency b/c it makes me shake, and these at 1/2 or even one at a time do not. These tablets even seem to loosen mucous in my sinuses, which allows for drainage. I stocked up on these at another retailer at a good price but once they're gone it's on the hunt for similar tabs :-(

I can't understand why " At His Best ", Drugstore.com, has not informed their customers that Primatene tablets will no longer be manufactured come December of this year. Probably another move by prescription drug companies to replace it with a script drug. So, what about the poor people with asthma that have been taking this medication for years & doing really well because of it. They most likely will have to spend more money for a prescription drug in order to survive. Just doesn't seem to matter to the drug companies as long as they can figure out a way to get on another money, making, bandwagon.

I use this product daily for asthma relief. It works fast enough and it is safe to use for me. I wish that it was available in nearby drugstores at the great online price! It's unfortunate that the government has limited the purchase of this product since it would be easier for me to buy in bulk. I do not drive and it is difficult to get the medications I need when I run out! I'm very happy you offer it at drugstore.com!
