The LOUD clicking noise was so annoying but also made me feel the product was unsafe. Regardless, the curlers were awkward to remove and my naturally wavy hair didn't hold a curl to save it's life. The rollers did not perform as promised. I got limp, non lasting half curls no matter how many times I tried. Returning product.

I have very thick type 2b/3b waist length hair. I try to use the least amount of heat possible to style my hair. After my hair air-dries, it is partially smooth & curly, partially wavy & partially frizzy(in the back). So, for you that battle multi-textured hair, these rollers are great! Especially, if you are trying to minimize direct heat. The ionic steam leaves me with very bouncy, smooth curls that last. Unlike traditional heated rollers that don't add any moisture and all you end up with is dry curls that flop by the time you leave home. Another plus for me was the large 1 1/2"+ diameter rollers. They are all jumbo & not a mixture of different sizes. I can roll my hair with these, jump in the shower, do my make-up, get dressed, pull the rollers out, shake my hair & I am ready to go! EXTRA TIP: Make sure that you smooth the ends of your hair around the roller when you are rolling it to ensure you don't have a crinkled end when you take your roller out. If, you are an amateur at rolling hair, that means to pull the roller down to the end of the hair, start to roll, then pull taut again before rolling completely. A small amt of moisturizer on the ends of your hair will help to smooth the hair around the roller especially if they are dry & frizzy. Also, I choose to use filtered water to ensure no mineral build-up like what can happen with a steam iron. It didn't say you have to, but that is just my choice.

I really like this steam roller compared to a rival one that I've owned ( I like steam heat for setting curls because of my fine, dry and frizzy hair). It will give you shiny, long-lasting curls. You can make it it a tighter curl by using less hair and twisting it; or more volumeous curls with more hair per curler. I would have given it 5 stars, but my unit doesn't work on the lowest setting, and on the high setting makes a loud clicking sound. Drugstore.com has FAST shipping! I would buy these again.

I am not great at doing my hair, but these are easy to use and really smooth down my coarse, somewhat frizzy color-treated hair. They don't burn your fingers, either!!
