I have tried several types of pads & I like these the best. They are a little on the small side, but are very soft & are really "soaked" with the solution - not dry at all.

I had my first hemorrhoid out of the blue - no constipation or hard stools or straining, I eat plenty of fiber daily, drink enough fluids, etc. Anyway, my hemorrhoid was a thrombosed external hemorrhoid, which are large and quite painful all the time. These don't itch but they are irritated easily (friction!). I did not have any relief after 3-4 days so I tried this Tucks pad in combination with 200 mg ibuprofen 2-3 times daily. I've noticed an almost instant decline in pain and hemorrhoid size when using this product. I still have a small lump leftover but it is mostly painless now. The lump will probably be completely gone in another week, but I'm glad that the pain relief came first! Great product; seems to work as advertised. The size of Tucks pads are just fine. I use this product by folding it half, placing it on the hemorrhoid and between the buttocks. I retain the pad for 15 minutes so. This seems to be extremely effective, and I recommend doing this instead of wiping.

I guess that this pad is the standard by which the others are compared, because it has the highest advertising budget & I would guess that more people have heard of this product than the other products in this area. I've used this pad, T.N. Dickinson's, & Fleet pads, & to me, this one is in the middle of the three. The pads are moist & flexible, & provided some pain relief & cleaning. They're better than the T.N. Dickinson's but not as good as the Fleet pads. If you can't find the Fleets, then this will do a pretty good job.

Don't let the "hemorrhoid" label prevent you from using this highly civilized product. Try one of these after you think you are clean from paper alone, and you'll be stunned as to what you are leaving behind in the behind (sorry I couldn't resist). They even make a 12 pack take along version that can accompany you on every road trip.

- gently dry by patting or blotting with toilet tissue or a soft cloth before applying
