I've used Buttpaste before and it worked then all of a sudden my daughter got a pretty bad diaper rash and Buttpaste didn't help. Not to mention Buttpaste was so hard to clean off. Then I gave Destin a try since I've had it sitting around since my daughter was born and oh MY this is the best. It cleared the diaper rash in less than a day and it smells GREAT, unlike Buttpaste. Now I use it after almost every diaper change and am so pleased with the results!

I was rather neutral about this type of Desitin. I have used the regular, thick formula for three and a half years now and am quite fond of it. The creamy works OK, but I think for serious rashes, the regular formula is better. The creamy formula wears away more quickly and it seemed to take longer for the rash to heal. However, for travel and smaller rashes, I think the creamy is nice! If you leave the regular formula in the car with your diaper bag, it's IMPOSSIBLE to use, whereas with the creamy, it's always ready to go and it doesn't stick all over your fingers!
My baby girl is 6 mos old. Started getting TERRIBLE diaper rash when she hit 6 mos. Both my kids have had VERY sensitive skin. This cream FINALLy got rid of her bright red, blister diaper rash. Worth every penny!!! i'm stocking up! We could not even have our daughter sit or bathe her the rash was so bright red and blisters!We did everything before using this cream:-changed her every hour (changed as soon as she pooped too)-free diaper time (diaper free for 30-40 min intervals)-changed her bath soap to Eucerine sensitive-tried all the sensitive disposable diapers-7th gen worked the best but her rash still would NOT go away-went through 3 different wipes ([@]sensitive..then went to 7th gen wipes, then did away w/ wipes all together and just used water+tissue-used Eucerin (this worked well for my son..he's now 2. did not work for my daughter)Then at 9pm i went to target and bought ALL the diaper creams i could find. this was the last one I tried (i really wanted to use the holistic options first). I should have used it 1st!! in one application and 1 hour the rash almost went completely away!Creams we did try with no success or worse results:-triple cream (most expesive)..worked but rash was still there 3 days later. super messy-butt paste extra strength (made her rash worse)-EucerinWinner: Desitin regular strength. thank you desitin!
Use as prevention for nappy rash Thick cream provides good protection as well as speed up healing Wish it comes in clear cream as well cos white cream can sometimes be hard to clean off
I don't really have a place for this anymore in my arsenal of baby products. For the changing table, the Canus goat's milk diaper cream in a jar is far more effective with 40% zinc oxide, and for on the go in the diaper bag, the Lanisoh diaper rash cream is smoother to apply and doesn't have that strong cloying artificial scent.
I am a first-time mom and recieved this along with a gift set of other baby bath time goodies. I used it for several days on my newborn daughter's diaper rash and didn't notice any change at all in the redness on her bottom. When I asked a nurse about it, she pointed out that if you look at the ingredients on the back, Desitin only contains 13% Zinc Oxide. Then she showed me the ingredients on the back of the [...]generic, Equate, that there was 40% Zinc Oxide. She said that it was much more effective and that was what they used in the nursery at the hospital. She gave me a tube to take home and I noticed a major change in the redness after the first use! After a couple more uses, no more diaper rash! I would definately reccommend the generic version rather than the name brand since it's much more effective. Plus, it's cheaper, can't beat that right?
Apply ointment liberally as often as necessary, with each diaper change, especially at bedtime or anytime when exposure to wet diapers may be prolonged.
