I heard if you have a prescription for it your insurance company will cover it. I have not got that far yet so I can't say for sure.

my son was born a preemie and had NEC when he was in the NICU and this is the only formula he could have. It is very expensive and I found it the cheapest on this site.

Our son has been in and out of the hospital for poor weight gain and vomitting. We have tried Elecare, Neocate, Nutramigen, Alimentum and even duocal added to pumped breast milk but we couldn't get him to grow on those. He has always been a spitty baby and we battled with reflux for a long long itme. Now with this formula he sleeps flat and is fine and is gaining weight nicely. This formula tastes HORRIBLE though, which would be a problem for most kids but our son has a G-Tube so he doesn't taste this at all, we give him breast milk in a bottle during meals and stick this down the tube. I tasted this and if I was only offered this I would probably develop an eating problem..this makes alimentum look like fresh lemonade in comparison.

I could not find a formula my daughter will take. She was only nursing but not growing fast.

I have 2 children with Cystic Fibrosis - my baby is 3 months and this formula is amazing. She has gained weight wonderfully (along with breastfeeding) and she is not gassy or uncomfortable at all! GREAT product -- worth the money needed to purchase it!! I would highly recommend!!

It's absolutely the only formula my baby can tolerate. Expensive, yes, but what can you do. She's had NEC so she has an extra sensitive tummy. I even tried to switch her recently to Nutramagin just because you can get it in the store but it was too much for her and painful. So if you're baby has had NEC and/or other serious intestinal problems, according to the physician it's the only choice. But she keeps it down and is gaining weight so we're happy!
