My baby has very pale, sensitive skin. when she developed diaper rash, we immediately started applying this product. The product prevented the diaper rash from getting any worse, but it did not treat the rash. In the end, we had to turn to a product with a higher content of zinc oxide. This probably would be great if she hadn't already developed the rash.

This stuff is wonderful. I discovered it with my first born. He had gotten sick and had a bad diaper rash. I tried every kind of ointment I could find. After a few days and the rash not clearing up my mother brought me some butt paste to try. Within a day the rash was almost gone and by the second day it was. I continue to use this with my second child and have even used it for any heat rashes I have gotten.

I look for three things in a diaper cream for my extremely sensitive-skinned 2.5 year old: 1. prevention and treatment of existing diaper rash 2. easy application and clean up 3. pleasant scent Butt paste does all of the above. It smells like cinnamon cake. There's basically nothing wrong with it as a product, as far as I'm concerned. I thought it used to be not tested on animals, but maybe that changed when the company was bought out? That's the only thing about it that makes me sad.

We have used this product for 3+ years and it has worked great...until our last batch. They have changed the ingredients to now use citric acid instead of boric acid and it causes a horrible white bumpy rash on my daughter. Buyer beware!

It is safe, easy to use and the tubs last for a good while!!

I developed an irritation/bedsore near the leg of my underwear after a pantyliner's adhesive stuck to my skin overnight. When I pulled it off, I had a huge welt, which turned into a huge bedsore due to the rubbing of my underwear leg. Being allergic to latext and adhesives, and the location of the wound, all made it difficult for this to heal. My husband bought home all sorts of zinc oxide products, as well as the butt paste, which I thought was a joke on his part, although I was not laughing at all. I tried all other zinc products with gauze first and they helped a bit, but would stick to the wound, so when I had to change the dressing they would reopen the wound each time. I finally gave in and used the butt paste. It was soothing, pleasant smelling and cooled the area. I finally felt the area was getting better. It still has a ways to go, but this time I asked my husband to bring home the 16 oz jar as recommended by one reviewer since this is the only product that has helped the tender area. As long as I don't sit or move around too much and keep the butt place on the wound, I think this will be healed completely in another week. If I was forced to find one thing wrong with it, I'd have to say the color could be a bit lighter, but even that is something that you can live with when it works so well.
