After receiving the first unit, it did not work. Drugstore.com customer service was great and sent a replacement unit. The second unit also arrived dead and did not work. Do not purchase this item, they are junk.

Over all this is a great pad if you are 12 feet tall. It is my own fault that I didn't notice how long it is. I hate the new regulation that only allows it to heat for so long. I constantly have to turn it off and back on. Bit of a hassle ...

We own 3 of these heating pads - we bought the first a few yrs ago, then my husband wanted another to keep at work & we just bought a third for home so that we didn't have to take turns using it when our back problems flared up at the same time. We had no complaints w/the first one which led us to order 2 more of the same brand/style.

The King size (12" x 24") is excellent for treating your back or other larger area. It heats up quickly & evenly; the 4 heat settings are more than adequate, I very rarely use anything higher than the 2nd setting & even that can be a bit much after awhile, so I kick it down to the 1st one. The washable cover is soft & just fine for what it's designed to do; it's not like I'm putting the thing directly on my skin. Although the manual says not to, I do sit with this b/w my back & a couch pillow since that's how I get the most relief. We've only used the Dry Heat Therapy, so we can't comment on how well the Moist Heat Therapy works.

I'd like to note that nowhere on the box or in the manual does it promise to remain on for 2.5 hrs. Actually, it's designed to shut-off automatically after 1 hr of use - it's a SAFETY feature; I don't understand why such a feature would bother anyone? It takes a second to turn it back on & maybe 5-10 mins, if that, for it to regain full heat (depending on setiing.) I'd much rather have a heating pad turn off after 1 hr than stay on indefinitely & risk overheating or even a burn!

Bottom line: The King size pad heats up quickly & evenly, offers 4 heat settings, a soft washable cover, 9ft cord & auto-shut off for safety & is a great product for the $.

This product is promised to stay on for 2 1/2 hours before it turns off but I would be lucky to say it might stay on for 1 hour and then turn off. I person that uses this product to heat muscles because of aches and lack of range of motion needs it for longer.

I have fibromyalgia and find that heat helps a lot. I use a heating pad daily, and this is the one I prefer. It is large, heats quickly and gets hot enough to really help. It's bendable so I can wind it around whatever needs the heat. I don't like the heating pads that have the soft cover that can't be removed; I often need to have the heating pad on high without the cover on - and the cover is very cheap and awful, the one really crummy thing about this heating pad. I also HATE the automatic turn-off feature on some pads (not this one); if you use a heating pad for hours you don't want to have to keep switching it back on. I have gone through many heating pads at this point - I give them a hard time, but this one holds up for a remarkably long time.

The inside of this pad is a thick plastic and it gets bent and wrinkled and is very difficult if not impossible to straighten back out so then it's uncomfortable to sit against the wrinkles. It's not particularly soft either and the cover is cheap and thin. I would not buy this kind again.
