I bought this because I needed a heavier moisturizer for the winter and I'm trying to use up FSA funds. Since the other amlactin moisturizers had such good reviews i thought I would give this a try. In the wintertime I use a body oil after showering then a moisturizer so I am used to a heavier feel. After a few minutes I wipe myself off with a towel. I found this product to be no better than any other moisturizer I've used and I gave it a low rating because of the smell. It has a putrid almost urine like smell. Sour and rather unpleasant. I do use a lot of "natural" and organic products without chemicals so maybe that's why I didn't like it.

My hands and feet crack and bleed all winter long and my dry skin flakes so badly that it looks like a snowstorm when I take my shirt off at night. This cream is the best I've found! I used the regular Amlactin for a long time, but it smells bad and sometimes burns sensitive skin. The Amlactin XL surpasses the old one by far! It doesn't burn, it doesn't smell and it's the only cream I've found that can keep my skin moist all day long. I no longer have the red bumps on the back of my arms either! It's incredibly pricey, but worth every penny!

Love this cream! I use it mostly for my feet - and it works better than any foot cream I have ever tried. No more rough heels, no more heel cracks. Amazing. I don't care much for the aroma, however. Although it is "fragrance free" - there is still a slight aroma to it that keeps me from using it on my hands - as much as I would like to.

Amlactin is a life saver for problematic skin, period. However, Amlacin XL did not prove much different from the regular one? It is expensive for one thing. plex formulation? is that the one different. Somewhere i read that amlctin xl also has peptides in it but i dont see in the ingredient list. Anyway, for good skin care, regular one is more than enough. Thanks for reading this review.

I need to use the product longer before I make a decision. The consistency is thick and greasy but it also has exfollients and AHA which are good for the skin. This product was recommended to me by a friend who had the product recommended to her by a plastic surgeon for use on her face. My skin tends to be dry and flaky at times.

My dermatologist specifically recommended Amlactyn XL. I workout daily, usually on an eliptical machine, and had developed two painful callouses, one on each foot. I had been using other foot creams. The Amlacin, within a week, seems to have elimnated the pain and reduced the calouses to nearly normal smooth skin. Amlactyn is a wonderful product clearly superior to any other lotion or cream that I have tried.

My hands and cuticles crack and peal several layers deep and become so painful. The first time I used AmLactin XL, I felt the difference from other creams. My hands and skin are very dry due to DIABETES & HYPO-THYROIDISM !!! I have NOT been able to find ANYTHING in the USA that would give me the DEEP MOISTURIZATION my skin requires to feel good -- UNTIL NOW !!! My clinic has a basket of "give aways" every month & last month they had these little .21oz tubes of AmLactin XL ULTRAPLEX formulation so I grabbed a handful (not believing it would work, as I've tried EVERYTHING out there). Well, I was SHOCKED & THRILLED -- it WORKS !!! I use it after each hand wash & it keeps my hands moist & pliable until I have to wash hands again & then I re-apply AmLactin !!! It's WONDERFUL & I use it on my dry arms & legs & even my face (keep away from eyes). I have been ordering my skin lotion from New Zealand for almost 10yrs & will continue to do so as it is WONDERFUL & CHEAPER -- even w/shpg ! It's called: API CARE: with Calendula & Manuka Honey (about [$]). Has a wonderful scent, moisturized wonderfully because honey is a Natural HUMATICANT !!! And I order 5 to 6 tubes at a time which lasts me a YEAR !!! But when I'm out of my NZ hand creme I will be sure to have AMLACTIN XL ULTRAPLEX LOTION on hand (no pun intended), because it is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST AMERICAN PRODUCT MADE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My plastic surgeon recommended for use at night, even on face. When I awake, face, neck, hands are soft and smooth. It even works on rough elbows and heels. My skin is very sensitive and dry, so I don't know how this would be for oily skin.
