Every time I go to buy a shampoo I get a different kind. I can't remember ever walking to the shampoo aisle and getting the same thing I had gotten before. I hadn't used this brand in years until I saw commercials and numerous hair dressers recommended this. Pantene is full of wax and leaves build up, Suave is pure soap and strips your hair of all oils, and Herbal Essences has way too much perfume. But this stuff is the all-around balance. It smells great, it dosen't contain too much soap, and it's not waxy and won't leave build-up. And oh yeah, it's a dandruff shampoo. I don't have dandruff, but I used this anyways. My hair is sleek and smooth, not weighed down, and it truly is a great shampoo.

This probably works fine for the average scalp, even when used alone. It doesn't work for everyone, though. I have a rapid cell turnover problem on my scalp that's been with me since early childhood. If you have that same rapid cell turnover problem, you'll probably have to switch this up, using it in combination w/ other dandruff shampoos. I switch it up between this, Denorex, Selsun Blue & Nizoral. Otherwise, my scalp no longer responds to the product. I have the kind of scalp that develops a thick patch of skin even while my hair is still drying, it can get very oily because of how fast the cells turn over (though it's slowed down with age) & can be very itchy & tight. I must wash my hair every other day at the minimum, so a gentler shampoo like this is great. I will say that this lathers wonderfully, is not as drying as other dandruff shampoos to the hair, smells very nice (not medicinal at all) & keeps away that awful ring at the hairline of flaking dead skin cells that people like me suffer from. It leaves no redness or sensitivity & is better than regular shampoo for cleansing my scalp.

My husband and I both use this and other Head and Shoulders varieties. It does a good job of controlling his dandruff, and I like the cleanness and texture of my hair.

I have bought head & shoulders in the past so i thought i knew what to expect, but unfortunately, they have changed things from when i used to use it. It has a much stronger scent than it used to and i really don't like it. it almost smells like bubble gum. i have extremely thick hair and this does not work well for me as a shampoo at all. i imagine it would work better for someone with thinner hair but maybe not. just a side note, the bottle design is incredibly cumbersome and the cap is far too difficult to open and close easily. not a nice design at all.

I read somewhere that dandruff shampoos are a good idea for fine limp hair. I normally cannot use a conditioner because it makes my already fine, limp hair worse. Even "voluime" conditioners. I do need some condiitioning because my hair is a little dmaged. The idea of a 2 in 1 is great..but I was worried about it again, leaving my hair limp. Not so! This stuff left my hair bouncy with just the right amount of slip or conditioning. It also left it a tad thicker..and I need all the help I can get in that area. I cant use it every day or eventually my hair will get limp, but all in all..a great product that really surprised me...I would have never thought to use it. If you have fine, thin, limp hair..give it a try.

It works fine if you just want a regular shampoo, but as for the dandruff it just doesn't work. I still have my dandruff and flakes and the itching too. DOES NOT WORK.
For maximum dandruff control, use every time you shampoo. Shake before use. Wet hair. Massage onto scalp. Rinse. Repeat if desired. For best results use at least twice a week or as directed by a doctor.
