When using this product I mimicked the Mystic Tan process. I sprayed my entire body and then wiped off the excess and to get an even coverage, and beforehand I put booties and lotion on my hands. The results are very light and I think it will be gradual because I applied a moisturizer all over. The results are pretty good. I went out and noticed that my arm looked golden instead of orange, however my knuckles are orange. Thats why there are only three stars; plus, the scent is very overpowering.

I am a Neutrogena fan, but not this product. This is the WORST self tanner I've ever used. I tried a lot of different application methods and each time got streaks and splotches. Also, it was MUCH darker than the "2 shades" promised on the label, even with a very light application. Unless you are already tan, you will look freakish. Virtually impossible to use. If you want a Neutrogena tanner, try Build-a-Tan instead; that's much easier to use.

This product is amazing. The first time I used it the tan was very light. I sprayed it again and it got darker (spray one coat at a time and wait till it dries to add another one); it's perfect and totally fool-proof!

I really like this product. First I should say that I'm a Pacific Islander and don't like getting dark from the sun, so I was considered kinda "pale" for my race. This was easy to use. I didn't experience any blotches or running (at least I didn't notice it on my type of skin). The only slightly bad thing is that I didn't think it made me 2 shades darker like the product claims, so I might try the darker one. It looked very natural - and just a little glow really makes a difference. The absolutely best thing about this product is there isn't that nasty smell like the others.

The fist time I used this product I was so excited, but after I sprayed it on, it was wet and sticky and took forever to dry. When it did dry, it was streaky and splotchy the next day. The next time I used it, I stood in my shower (after I had dried off of course) and sprayed it a lot further away from my skin. It was like a completely different product. I just sprayed a LIGHT mist everywhere, and it dried completely within 2 minutes. The next day there were NO splotches or streaks. Now I love it and it is the only product I will use. I live on base in Japan, and both the BX and PX have been sold out for over a month - I am so glad I found it here. I spray it standing in the shower so I don't get my bathroom floors and walls sprayed, so there is really no cleanup when you do that.

I just used this product this week. I use it on my legs because they don't tan as fast as other areas. My legs now match the rest of my body. I didn't experience any striping like a zebra like some have said. I kept it a good distance from my skin and made even quick strokes. I had to use the product about 3 times to get the desired effect since it was kinda light. I think I would try the darker version next time. I have used other Neutrogena self tanners b/4 with the bronzer in it, they work well, esp. the foam, and the face cream, but you have to use your hands, which no matter how much I clean my hands, I still see yellow. This product requires no hand rubbing, and thus no yellow/orange palms. Like it a lot! Just wish it would work with fewer applications, and had a tint to it so you could see where it is going.

I LOVE THIS! I have tried lots of self tanners, but this is the best! I think that people who had trouble may be using too much or spraying it too close, since I have not had any problems. The thing I like best about this is that it doesn't rub off on clothes or sheets (I have white sheets and most self tanners leave an orange mess). Also, it stays on really well, unlike some self tanners which wash off in the shower. I would recommend using a really light coat a few days in a row for the best color.

I thought my search for the perfect sunless tanner had ended when I discovered this product - but I was wrong. The idea of a continuous spray is great, but in order to get a non-streaky tan, you have to be an airbrushing professional. It's just too difficult to keep the can 6 inches from your body WHILE moving in continuous sweeps. I ended up dark in some areas of my legs, and with "sweep" marks all over my legs. I had to wear jeans in 100+ degree weather until the product wore off! Perhaps if you had darker skin and wanted a nice glow this product would work -- but for those of us with fair skin - Beware! Every little sweep of the can showed! On the plus, the product had very little smell.

I don't know why so many people had trouble with this product. I noticed that a lot of people said it was sticky, which means they sprayed on way too much. I love this stuff. I held the can a good six inches from my body and worked quickly over my skin allowing for a light, even coverage. I missed a spot on my back, but was able to go back over it later with no trouble. I didn't stop at the end of each spray as suggested, and I don't think that it's a good idea to do so. If I felt any wet spots I blended them in with my hands before they dried. Washes off the hands more easily than a lotion. It's so easy to apply, goes on so quickly, and dries so quickly. I have a nice, even, natural looking tan. Four stars because I wish it were tinted so I could be sure of where the spray was going, and not miss spots.

I really like the product. You DO have to rub it in to avoid the zebra stripes that others have mentioned, but I liked the color and the lack of streaks. The weird problem I had was that after a while I could no longer push down on the spray top. Even using both hands, the thing just jammed. I ended up throwing away half the can.
