I tried using the Braun shaver without this cleaning solution, rinsing the razor daily with tap water (while turning it on, and even removing the foil). After a couple weeks, however, the razor started to smell terrible, similar to a what it would smell like if I hadn't washed my face for 2 weeks. Returned to using these and everything is back to a "normal" with a fresh-smelling razor.This, and the fact that the trimmer broke recently, only after a year's use, makes me ponder about whether I'll purchase this Brand of item again. Just watch out! If you return to touch up your face on a sleepy morning, and the razor has just cleaned itself in the solution already, rinse of the razor off! Yes, there is alcohol in there, [...]. Zouch!

I use it to clean my shaver every day. It seems to last about 1 month or 5 weeks. The auto-cleaner seems to work well enough as the solution is quite dirty when it is changed. I have checked how clean the shaver was after a cleaning cycle and it seemed to be quite clean, so this does appear to do the job it advertises. Overall I am quite happy with my shaver and this cleaning solution.

I love the cleaning system. It is easy to use and I don't have to worry about cleaning my shavor. The system does it for me.

good product, but life expectancy could be longer

The refill price keeps going up. I read you can make your own solution , but can't find it. Have to look again. My husband said it really isn't worth the price of these refills.

Braun's Clean & Renew system charges the shaver's battery and cleans the head at the same time. Eager to sell many refills, Braun advocates plugging the shaver into the Cleaning/Charging Stand every day. I plug in mine only when it needs charging: once every two - three weeks. Between charges, I use the little brushes to clean my whiskers off the shaver head. This procedure works just fine, and I need replace the cleaning fluid container only once per year. If you own a braun shaver, then by this item! It does as it says, i only wish it was cheaper!!!!
