This is an effective moisturizer but it does leave your skin shiny. I put it on under makeup so my powder gets rid of the shine, but if you don't put something over it I imagine you'd be displeased. Also Im not so sure of the "calming" effect because every once in a while this product feels irritating when I apply it.

I wasted my money on this one. I have its sister, the face wash, and I loved that so I bought this one. It leaves my skin oily and I broke out in places on my face that I normally don't. Did anyone smell an acetone scent? Yeah, weird.

I tried this moisturizer because I wanted one with SPF that also wouldn't cause me to break out considering most moisturizers with SPF do. I didn't need this for the "ultra calming" effect, so I can't say much about that, but considering it is for sensitive skin I gave it a try. It felt good when I first put it on, but toward the end of the day I noticed my face feeling greasy and my skin felt oily in places it usually doesn't. It did not cause me to break out in pimples, but I did notice a large amount of blackheads at night that were not there in the morning. I gave this product a 3 out of 5 because it does have good sunscreen qualities and it should be good for someone whose pores don't clog easily.

I rarely give a product 1 star, but I was so unimpressed with this Aveeno moisturizer, I feel the low rating is justified. Like so many who have tried this product, I bought it because I have extremely sensitive skin, prone to redness and dryness. "Calming" and the Aveeno brand convinced me this moisturizer (and its companion facial wash) would be a good thing for my skin. Wrong! Both this moisturizer and the Calming Facial Wash burned my skin--the sensation began almost immediately and lasted well after I rinsed it off my face. In my opinion, this is not a good moisturizer for sensitive skin--it contains irritants, just what you don't want. Used in conjunction with the facial wash, my skin looked and felt worse than it had in years. OH-and why the scent in a sensitive skin product? That's a big mistake in and of itself. Aveeno needs to go back to the laboratory with these "Calming" products, and bring them up to its usual high standards.

I have dry, itchy skin and slight rosacea. This product doesn't do anything to improve the rosacea or red appearance of my skin. It does feel great, not too greasy and it absorbs quickly and evenly. Though it does not do what it promises (for me at least), it doesn't irritate my very sensitive skin.

I have seborrheic dermatitis with mild inflammation, skin flaking and redness in my T-zone and above my eyebrows on my forehead. For 20 years my skin suffered from an annoying tingling sensation with various degrees of irritation. I tried various moisturizers with limited success. I had this Aveeno moisturizer for a while, but unfortunately I had used it inconsistently and very sparsely. In a recent effort to use it up I applied it every day very thick on my face and let it soak in my skin. This seemed to make the needed difference! I am going into my fifth week without any signs of redness and tingling. I believe the missing oil ingredient in this product helps my condition. I hope other people with the same skin condition will have a chance to read my review and try this product. It works for me!

I have used high end, expensive moisturizers such as Dr. Hauschka for the past 2 years. I noticed that my skin was extremely oily and I was frequently breaking out. I read the reviews for the Aveeno Ultra-Calming moisturizer and decided to try it. I am really happy I did! I have sensitive skin so I am usually allergic to most facial products but so far this is a great product for the price. In addition, I am fair skinned so the SPF really helps. I love the light texture and clean smell of the cream and definitely recommend it!

I have incredibly difficult skin - very sensitive, with an oily t-zone and dry cheeks, and the dry areas routinely breaking out. I've been using this consistently for a couple of years, and it's the only moisturizer I've ever found that balances my skin. I don't break out nearly as often, the dry areas get moisturized, and the oily areas aren't too greasy. Very, very highly recommended.
