I've been using the Brita system for the past 2 years and I'm very pleased with it. It saves me big bucks on buying purified water. I also use it for my Dalmatians drinking water and for mixing in their food. Why should they have to drink "narly" awful water when I'm drinking great water from Brita filters?? They love the water and drink plenty when filtered. I use it for everything including cooking and washing my face. The filters are a little messy as grains of charcoal float in the water intake bowl. (Does NOT get into your clean water in the pitcher!) I just rinse them out every now and then..

I bought 2 packs of these on sale and with a internet coupon so what I paid for them wasn't bad but if I was to pay full price for these I don't think I would have bought them. For what they are they cost entirely to much. If you're trying to save money by using a brita filter system instead of bottled water, you are probably spending about the same as you would on bottled water due to the filters costing so much. Carbon does come out into the place where you poor water into your brita system but it doesn't go into where the filtered water is. Pros: It is easy to use and does make tap water taste a lot better.

I used this product many years ago, and kept the pitcher to use while traveling after I purchased a Gulligan under-counter filer. I am no longer using the Gulligan because of difficulty in getting proper servicing, culminating in contaminating the filter and resulting in smelly water. I have always been satisfied with Brita, and I believe I will never again purchase an under-sink filter of any kind.
Change your filter with just a few simple steps. Wash your hands before unwrapping the filter. Flush filter with cold water for 15 seconds. Insert filter into reservoir. Add cold tap water. Discard your first 3 pitchers of filter water, or use this water for plants. It is normal for carbon dust to appear in your first fillings. Fill up your pitcher and enjoy great-tasting water. Replace the water filter every 40 gallons or 2 months. Substances reduced may not be in all user’s water.
